Thanks Starpp.

How did you install GPS software and maps on your Head Unit? was it preloaded or did you install using SD card? Please share installation instructions, if possible as i want to try with trail version first. The unit purchased by me runs on Win CE 6.x version.
Guys, I got the iGO myway SD Navi (preloaded) with the unit by FOC. of course the mapmyindia map is still great with better GUI and colorful features. but still iGO myway (from Naviextras.com) also cool and i can go anywhere in the town with landmarks and address. if you do some search on internet, you might get iGO myway map uploaded on net by someone :-) give a try.

I've got MRF with my ZDI and i dont see any need to upgrade tyres after driving almost 1600 kms . I had thought about it but now i think i will keep these tyres and then after 15-20k kms i will upgrade to better one like Micheline or Yokohama . I personally think that is it better to upgrade/change tyre (rubber) compound than size .

Advantages on Stoke tyres.

1> Less tyre noise
2> Better grip in wet and on corners .

Disadvantage :-

1> Soft compound has very less life as compared to Hard Compound tyres . So any tyre which is made with using Soft compound rubber it has shorter life than regular tyres .

2> for Yokohama i was told that it has only 10-13k kms of life compared to your Stock MRF .

Decide as per you Driving style whether to upgrade or not .

I have booked my ZDI on May 2nd,2012. They promised me to give the vehicle on mid of July. But still now I didnt get. Two days once I used to go to the dealer (ABT Maruti, chennai) and ask them. Everytime they repeat the same answer "we will deliver you in few days". I dont know what is happening in maruti dealers.

Hi mnalex,
i too booked my ZDI with alloys on may 28th 2012 from Bimal Maruti Bangalore. They said it will be delivered within 8 months. And since MS has increased the production of Ertiga i think that my waiting period is now only 6 months. And a few days after i booked they called up to invoice my car. after that no sign of them.

Hi Drqwertyg
20k price does not include mapmyindia sd card. I need to pay extra for activation and am waiting for the quote. Yes, built in usb socket is still working

Hi Long Miles Cruiser

I got this done at the same place where starpp got it done -> Konark, Jaya Nagar 9th Block, Bangalore. Refer to link posted by Starpp on this page.

Konark people did a very good job of installing it within 1.5 hrs and charged around 650. Since this unit is for Swift 2012, it fits nicely in place of original Head unit and connectivity is straightforward.

Unit is working good so far and touch screen is also fine. i did not try TV & GPS features. i am waiting for Maps SD card to try GPS.

Thanks Starpp.

Hi Starpp

I got the 2 DIN OE Suzuki system fitted in my Ertiga by Konark on Saturday. Thanks for your well researched contact and I got it done by Siddhu , who had recollected many installation of similar systems ( including yours !) .He did a good job of it swiftly and I got the SD version installation of MAP My India Maps along with the CMOS -Night vision camera ( a very useful feature ) . Map my India is very detailed ,colourful ,precise and really good as you had opined in your post.

Hi Srinivas,

I got the 2 DIN OE Suzuki system fitted in my Ertiga by Konark on Saturday.
I got the SD version installation of MAP My India Maps . It is very detailed ,colourful ,precise and really good. It is loaded with features and it needs regular usage to familiarise yourself, after which it would become easy to manage.
It is a typical Exec file that was loaded on to the SD and after all the initialization commands and the entry of the unique ( Your car specific ID ) ID , it gets installed and activated in a couple of minutes .
The Touch screen is quite responsive. It is more effective with the stylus ( than with the fingers- moreover fingers would make the screen patchy like all touch screens !! ) that was provided in the packing. We have to ensure that a windshield sun protector inside the car is fixed religiously when you park, since the suns rays would directly hit on the system screen ( Touch screens are sensitive to high temperatures and direct sunlight ) . That way it would remain reasonably cooler in temperature.
The blue tooth pairing with the Mobile is seamless including blue tooth songs stored and played through the Mob. The I pod connection is also seamless and so is the USB. The screen has many options like Album cover , song details and also video details .
I fixed the CMOS ( Single wide vision ) Camera ( with night vision ) too and that is a very useful and practical feature. ( Cars truly have become hitech today - thanks to all these gizmos !!) . But you feel very secure while reversing , with the reverse camera.
Do post your experiences with the new system too , so that we can continually exchange notes on the system and Ertiga .

Cheers and keep the posts running . [:)]

My observations on Ertiga are:

1.Middle Seat Space is good.
2.No engine sound.
3.Easily overtakes Swift and Verna.
4.Beige interiors were top class and
5.It is VFM.

The Car,which I sat.It had,

1.Red and Beige Art-Leather Seats.
2.Side Door Protectors.
3.Bumper Protectors.
4.Door Visor and
5.Hiker Bike Protector.

Car is 1 month old.It is ZDI without alloys in Granite Grey Color.

This is the upgrade for 2006 Innova G.

Overall,Ertiga is worth the value and penny[clap]

Re: Music system query

I'm using a 16GB one and is working fine. There are some limitation in the no of files ( as per the owner manual).
I have no luck with any of the 4GB Pen drives on the Nippon AUdio in Ertiga. Error 1 & Unsupported USB error message. It works on Sandisk 4GB. Wonder how it works for you on a 16B. As per manual, 4GB is the max limit.

Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?
