@Razor Boot space is something I will have to sacrifice. Can't have the cake and eat it too [:)] Would the Brio facelift come this Diwali? Saw stray posts on some websites hinting at that. Keyword Brio on Google News shows old posts about its possible facelift, not a new version, late this year.

I had earlier posted about an abnormal sound from the engine side in the morning. This had been identified as an issue with catalytic converter/exhaust system. The dealer had asked for a replacement of the exhaust system from the manufacturer.Waiting for Maruti to respond. All Celerio owners check your car after running for one hour in cold conditions(morning) for abnormal sounds in the engine.(It may look like fan belt slipping or tappet sound) Will not be audible in the midst of other vehicles.

Hi,

am new to this thread.

bought one celerio vxi amt white color on 12th jan 2016.
today odo @ 209 km.

Quite smooth (first car in family).

The look is not impressive, always have some quest how to enhance the look from backside.

But once you are inside, you have plethora of items to amaze you.

Needed some guidance for customizing both interior and exterior.[:D]

Just bought a Zxi AMT for my wife on 18th January. Got good bargain on 2015 model!
We haven't driven it much (less than 25kms on the ODO) but the AMT looks to be inline with that of my zest XMA. I surely miss the creep function on my zest!

5.5 on-road for Zxi? Which city? I recently bought 2015 model Zxi AGS for 5.1 on-road in Delhi.

City is Dimapur, Nagaland. Exshowroom prices for manual zxi is 5l.zxi optional with abs n airbags is 5.46 exshowroom. And Figo trend is 5.51. Why a 1000cc car is almost same as that of 1200cc car. Why celerio is so overpriced for a 1000cc.
Should I consider Figo petrol instead guys?

Is this thread dead ? No new postings since March 2016.

My Glistering grey VXi MT has done around 16000 km since I bought it on 11 Dec, 2014. Quite happy with the car's performance and fuel economy. Can achieve FE of more than 20 km/liter if I drive less than 100 km/h speed on highways. On city limits the FE is around 15 km/litre. Have done trips to hill stations like Ooty, kodaikanal and kolli hills ( with 74 hairpin bends in kolli hills alone ). The maneuverability in hills is not bad. Overall quite satisfied with the performance of the car.

Posting after a long time. [:)] My Celerio completed 30000 km recently. Also took it for periodic paid service. Car is running well in general. Although had observed following problems recently ..

1. The car chokes up sometimes and needs more accelerator pedal input. This mostly happened in the first or second gears only.
2. Fuel economy decreased somewhat. Usually it gives on a average 17-18 on highways and 15- 16 the the city , both with ac on all the time. But lately the figures dropped by around 2 kmpl from average.
3. Rattling sound from central column area in the dash .
4. Rattling from left front door.
5. Uneven braking performance with sudden increase in bite.
6. Right rear wheel cap fell off about 6 months back and got lost
7. Had two punctures repaired
8. Clutch has become somewhat harder

Also made a long 250 km round trip to bakkhali ( a sea beach located in the sundarban area) and back before the service. Trip was smooth and faced no other issues than already mentioned before. One point of the trip involves transporting the car on a barge accross the hataniya-doyaniya creek!

Well , got it serviced at AM Automobiles , a MASS located near my home. The service station is average but due to lack of time could not take it to dealer workshop . Anyway , the bill came to Rs 4592. And also got the interior cleaned for Rs 700. Total bill 5292.

SA advised throttle body cleaning and also replaced 3 spark plugs . Now the car has become much smoother with normal acceleration and no choking. Also mileage is improving again to previous figures. Brake cleaning was also done which has made the braking more uniform. As for the hard clutch , SA sad the only solution is replacing the clutch plate but advised against it for the time being, so may be in next service if needed.

The rattles- not solved. They were also not able to provide a wheel cap for the lost one. Enquired about it in car accessories shop but you have to buy a set of four. What can I do?

Another thing I found out. The service done at places other than dealer workshop doesnt show on on the service history of the Maruti care app! This is certainly a thing Maruti needs to rectify![surprise]

Hello all,

well its been 2 and half yrs since I bought my Celerio Vxi (mt) and the Odo is showing almost 38000 kms. Want to take it for servicing sooner rather than later. Had a few minor knocks and scrapes and a few problems have cropped up. Also want to dress up my car a bit after the next service.

In general ..car is running fairly well. avg mileage since last service has increased. Now without a/c f.e. is 19-20 on highways and not less than 17 kmpl in the city. The car is seeing more highway rides now than intra-city ones.

Problems which have cropped up are
1. Engines chokes up a bit on cold mornings while starting. Becomes normal if idled for a minute or so.
2. Consistent squealing noise from rear right side while braking , noise increases on hard braking.
3. Rattling from both front doors. Sometimes I feel hopefully they wont fall off one fine day.Sometimes rattle decreases if I open and close the doors again. But many a times the doors will rattle when closed normally the first time.So i have to stop my car , open them and close them again.
4. Preexisting rattle from central column. Not resolved during previous service.

One incident happened when I damaged the left corner of the front bumper when it struck against an iron rail embedded on the road in the dark. The car was travelling at not more than 5~10 kmph .(see pix below). I thought at that time must be a minor scratch as the car was in 1st gear and very slow at the time of impact. But when I got down and looked at it after a while I saw that it had just bent inwards like a crushed mineral water bottle. Took it to Dealer service center Starburst Motors , Kalyani. I asked them just to straighten it out without any major refit so that I can be up and gone. Here's how the conversation went :

Bodyshop Adviser (BA) : Sir it cannot be done. You have to replace the entire bumper. And you can do it under insurance ( i have bumper to bumper insurance) , we will also fix the other small dents and bumps and total cost will be around 22k! We will give your car back in 5 days
Me: What if u just replace the bumper?
BA: It wil cost 6000.
Me: Look I need my car at this moment , cant you just straighten the bumper somewhat so that I dont have to keep my car at the shop?
BA: Looking distressed - Sir it cannot be done, its made of fiber. Even if we try to just straighten it we will have to heat it and then it will damage the paint and it will look horrible.

I really needed my car those few days and so I went away to a nearby garage and the mechanic did it for Rs 100 and within 5 mins. [;)] Its not perfect , but I can live with it. Infact I am unwilling to repair every dent and scrape on my Celerio , since I know that due to its extremely fragile build and paint quality and the city traffic , it will get bruised again soon enough.

Plans:after next service
1. Roof wrap in black
2. Fit DRL , buy from Amazon or Ebay maybe?
3. Try synthetic oil instead?
4. Put a touch screen ICE?
5. Suggestions?

Very sorry to see that damage. Glad you got it quick fixed cheap. For me, I had to replace the rear bumper as it got heavily crushed by a biker at a signal. The ABT guys insist that it is not repairable. Luckily I had the bumper to bumper policy and only paid Rs. 1000 policy excess and around Rs. 300 odd for the mud flaps (which are not covered by insurance).
The blue is really a good colour on this car.
