@Akash1886, @generalmax and other celerio owners can you post your ownership experience. It will surely help people like me those who are planning/considering to buy celerio
Greenmiles,I bought the car with much expectations.Selling my Ritz was the biggest mistake I did.getting a very bad dealership experience and below expected performance, I am not at all happy with celerio ,of which I didn't take the time to write an ownership review. If they were discontinuing Ritz the other option must be wagon R.If they are discontinuing Wagon R then celerio comes in.
I would say a small city car which will give you average mileage .I didn't find it highway friendly nor a safe car.I would suggest anybody to go for Wagon R Vxi with ABS at the price of Celerio VXi.

If you are upgrading from an Alto or M800,this is a good car. Else go for the swift itself.

Nice review of Celerio. My aunt has bought Celerio VXI AMT in white colour in Feb 2015 and quite impressed with it.Rear seat is comfortable and better than Swift. My father drove an AT car for the first time and left impressed.I'm the one who suggested her to go for an AT car as she developed knee pains since few years.First she almost decided to go for Celerio ZXI MT but backed her from buying MT and made her bought AT car.

Posting after quite some time..a time that has been quite eventful for my car as well my life.

Current Status - Completed 3rd free service on 24 june 2015 with odo reading at 11205 kms.

Odo reading as of today stands at 12335 kms..
MID shows average fuel consumption - 18.6 kms . Calculated fuel consumption by tankful method varies between 16.58 kmpl to 18.1 kmpl.
Driving with ac on 90% of the time with 60% city and 40% on highway.

Had a pretty bad accident in May with Odo reading of 9753 kms. Was travelling at night on a poorly lit stretch of road near gangulybagan in south Kolkata (near west wind complex). Speed was about 20 kmph. While overtaking an autorickshaw , the auto suddenly swerved right and to avoid hittting the auto I turned right and in the process collided with the end of a iron railing (divider) in the middle of the road . Guys from south Kolkata beware the stretch of road near west wind complex and padmasree bus stop are not very well lit and the newly put up iron fence dividers are not really visible at night . There have been several incidents of vehicles colliding with the fencing in the recent past and the ends of the iron fence are now a twisted mass of metal. Recently traffic police have began keeping high visibility orange traffic cones at the ends of the iron fencing.

Anyway , put her into Bhandari Automobiles Science city workshop . Repairs were completed in about 10 days and the bill came to around Rs 21k of which insurance paid around 17.5 k. Had to replace the fog lamps as they were damaged during towing after the accident. In total it cost me around 6 k because of the accident.

Meanwhile my car is seeing pretty heavy usage in both city and highway in various type of weather conditions. And after having driven for more than 12k kms so far ...my experience with this car can be listed in the following points..

Pros -
1. Good nimble car to drive in city traffic.
2. Feels surprisingly planted at high speeds on the highway. Nice cruising effortlessly on 5th gear at 70-80 kmph..but overtaking at high speeds needs downshifting to 3rd and 4th gears.
3. Drove around in pretty heavy weather in the highway at speeds upto 90 kmph but fortunately never felt the lack of braking like generalmax had.
4. Cant complain about fuel economy!

Cons -
1. Tinny construction (God protect me!)
2. Really thin paint quality..scratched even at the lightest impact.
3. Slightly laggy acceleration on hot summer days with 100% ac on with 5 people on board.
4. gears are a little notchy
5. Still missing the tacho in vxi [cry]

At last it seems that the Celerio is selling. Plenty of celerios on the road in Kolkata and the suburbs . Majority are VXI manual trim. At one time when I drove around last year it seemed I am the only Celerio owner in Kolkata lol![:D]

I am looking to get ZXi(O) manual. My only gripe is, as many have observed, the VXi trim is not well-equipped. The least they could have done was to fix the fog lights. Celerio ticks all the essential points in the practicality list, along with one more addition, which is in the looks department. Celerio can be said to be a better looking WagonR since both have the same engine and are meant for the aam junta like me, of course a negligible engine upgrade is there in the Celerio. Have you taken the car out often on the highway recently? Wanted to know how it behaves there. How's the overall experience currently? Please do update when you have time.

Ffifty percent of my travel nowadays is on the highway infact. I usually try to keep it between at 70-80 kmph never go above 100 kmph. Its effortless cruising at ~70 kmph in 5th gear .Steering and cornering feels assured. I have driven in severe rainy environs but never had any problem with braking so far. Only you have to downshift to 4th to overtake at speeds >70. Highest avg fuel consumption shown in MID was 19.8 kmph on the highway though I have a little heavy right foot.

Overall experience is pretty satisfactory..well except for the petrol prices!![anger]

Sounds good enough for me. I have been thoroughly checking out Brio V MT over Celerio ZXi O too. The latter fits my needs for now though. Hope the manual's price comes down by year-end; currently this three-pot machine is overpriced. I'd like to add one more query regarding your Celerio: have you sat on the backseat while on the move? If yes, how was it generally, bumpy, comfy, etc. Or what's the feedback you got from rear passengers?

When fully loaded, rear seat is not as bad to travel. If there is very less people say 1 or 2,then it is bumpy.I keep the tyre pressure at 29 to avoid this. The manual's price had not gone down from last year,it actually increased.

dear friends,
Need help.I am having this squeaking sound in my celerio, in the mornings, especially when going uphill. The MASC cannot identify the sound, though I had made them hear it.I feel there is some issue with the clutch as the sound is very prominent while clutch is applied in 2nd and 3rd gear. I am giving the sound clip below.

Could be the clutch spring. It's quite normal. They will spray some lubricant (WD40) and the squeak will go. But it might come and go intermittently. I know it's annoying. Happens usually in rainy season. The squeak that I am talking about will come from under the steering wheel.

I heard the audio. Couldn't find anything amiss. But if the squeak is constant and coming from engine area then it could need a serious look.

This is what I also thought. But the sound is in a higher side if the vehicle is in a incline going up.In the third gear I can hear the sound without applying the clutch too.
In the audio clip have you noticed two different sounds. The base is the car engine sound (it sounds phut phut). The other more shriller one is what I am talking about. Worst part is this is not seen, when I am with the mechanic. If it is a clutch spring ,I can ask them to directly look in to that.Else they will tear down the whole thing.[frustration].Can you make sure it is not of any belt slipping. Thanks roadrunner.

I've been giving a lot of thought to the Celerio of late. Manual with ABS. I will be upgrading from my workhorse Alto 800. And Celerio seemed to tick all my needs. Checked Swift too but it's a bit claustrophobic inside for me. WagonR not interested. Then came the Brio V MT. With ABS it cost a marginal higher from Celerio petrol top end. Brio took the cake. I am dropping Celerio now.

Brio is a good choice for the city ..but 175 L boot space is the deal breaker for me. Its even less than the Alto 800 which has 177 L space. Only Tata nano has got a smaller 94 L boot in the whole Indian car market.
