I am not too confident on the FE being shown on the instrument panel.
I follow the simple manual method
1. Reset the Trip meter when Fuel indicator turns on.
2. Fill in the fuel, full tank or whatever amount.
3. Note the mileage when next Fuel indicator turns on.
4. Calculate FE based on km trip/amount of fuel.

Based on that, my FE is coming around 13kmpl. First service done recently. Almost only city driving, mostly single person and without AC.

Not happy with FE.

Secondly, the FE shown on the instrument panel (not the on the spot one) is between the last time the ignition was switched on and current. I read something like that in the user manual. Is that correct ?
Hi Rohit,

Even the method you mentioned is good for KMPL calculation. Also the mileage you mentioned is great for Such a big vehicle in Pune traffic.

Even I am getting almost the same mileage in city. I think you have a Ertiga ZXi.
My GetZ Prime 1.1 ltr mileage was around 12 / 13 KMPL in Pune city.

If i consider the engine size and weight of Ertiga then the current mileage is good incomparision to GetZ Prime.

I see the FE on display is accurate now. I do manual calculation. I filled 33ltrs of diesel and my low fuel light started glowing after it reached 575kms. So I got 17.4kmpl this time and my FE displayed 17.2. But the DTE is the one which is not accurate. My FE is from b2b city traffic with100% ac on.

If your manual calculate mileage is 17.4kmpl and DTE displayed 17.2 kmpl then i think this is not much difference.

If the DTE is accurate then my current ZXi mileage is 15.2 KMPL. [clap]
Even 13-14 KMPL is an excellent mileage for this size of engine & car.

I am very happy with my car. [:D]

Note: All these mileage(KMPL) calculate on City limit only with 60% AC on.

Update:
=======

I have checked the current mileage with LFW to LFW (low fuel warning) method.
In city ( bumper to bumper traffic ) with 50% AC my Ertiga ZXi giving me 12.5 KMPL.
My car is now 2500 KM old.

I think this is a good mileage for my kind of driving.
Now a days in pune traffic, i can not expect more than this number.

I need to find out the KMPL without AC in city.

That is a decent mileage in a b2b traffic. Happy miles ahead

Mine is now around 3100 KM on ODO.

I am getting around 12 - 14 KMPL with AC on, in the city. (Depends on traffic)

During my last drive on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, I drove around 90 - 100 KMPH for more than 20-30 KM.
The AC was also ON full time.

Then I observe a smell inside the car, like tyre / rubber burning smell.
I did not install an AC filter in my car. The AC was in re-circulation mode.

The smell was for about 2-3 mins then it was normal.

Is this normal?

But no issue on the car was observed. The car drives like as it is.

Please do not try with your car : i will not recommend this to try with your car

I have crossed 150 KMPH speed with my car on Pune-Mumbai express highway.
The car was loaded with 5 adult and some luggage.

It was on straight stretch on the expressway. The time span was for 10 ... 15 mins...

I never crossed this mark on any car in my 2 lac KM experience on highway.

just wanted to test the ability of ERTIGA.

I can now vouch for ERTIGA STABILITY. The car was rock steady at that speed.

If any one want to upgrade then i strongly recommend ERTIGA (PETROL ) .....with budget of Rs 8.5 lac.

Ya, the LUV has ability upto 170kmph, which wont be necessary for a safe ride!
Anyway I never cross 130 in any car! Wat's the hurry? Enjoy each kilometer at a steady speed without hurry!

Agreed Sir,

i generally drive in the range of 80 to 100 KMPH depends the road on highway.
I drove today to just check the stability of the car.
i do not think i will drive again in that speed for sure. :)
