Got the VVT emblems from MGP. When the Diesel motor has DDiS emblem on the fender why the petrol should be left out.

Got 2 of them each for Rs.41 /-

I purchased from Maruti Service Center. Almost all ASC will have this readily available.

Maps Update

MS has released an update for SmartPlay Navigation Maps.

All you have to do is go the link below and register yourself with the details required.
You will need your Car VIN number and smartplay system Serial Number which you can find in the settings of Smartplay player.

Take the backup of Old maps and extract the new maps to the SD card.

The default memory card which MS had provided is formatted to FAT16 and partitioned for 2 GB. But actually the memory card is 4GB.

Reformat the Memory card to NTFS after taking the Backup of Old Map. Reformatting is necessary as the new map update is above 2 GB. (If you have an alternate Memory card which is above 2 GB you can use that. ) Whats nice is you can add media also to the Maps memory card and you can use the same Memory Card for Maps and Media in the Smart Play player.

Points to Note: The new batch of balenos after February might have this updated maps already. This is for 1st batch of Balenos. While registering in the website You might get an error saying Incorrect VIN. Trick is to copy the VIN number from NEXA login. Also you dont see any visual changes to the Maps after the update. They might have added some new roads or so per the release notes. Just update it as an update is update.

I have read somewhere that the alloy wheels color has been changed. Does your Baleno came with the changed color or is it normal like what we got in the first batches ?

Only color of the wheels has changed but not design.

Thanks GreenMiles and other TAI'gers. Initially I had opted for zeta variant but waiting time was much more..& I being impatient started convincing Dad to go for Alpha petrol. I finally booked car on 29th Jan after overall enquiry for waiting period from Nexa showrooms in Mumbai, and decided to book at Shivam Nexa, Andheri East. Nexa experience was overall good..hope to have such ahead too!

Only color of the alloys have changed from silver to Gunmetal GREY..and the design remains same as previous alloys in initail batches.

Congratulations on your new baleno alpha . magnificent she is. Please do share your ride experience. I have booked a Baleno Alpha (P) Ray Blue on Jan 14th she is arriving this month end or probably by Jun 1st week. My quoted waiting period was 5 months in Chennai. Hope she will arrive on the right time.
