Re: Overheating Problem in Maruti 800

Hi try getting the radiator cleaned this will solve the problem..
thanks varun, I did got it cleaned last time, and there was some blockage that was removed but still the gauge needle keeps hovering b/n higher end of the gauge. It does comes down when the fan switches on,but goes back toward the red, but it never had crossed the OK mark yet. and I have also noticed that the frequency and duration of the fan's operation has reduced. It switches on very quickly, runs for a shorter period and gets switched off. and with in few min's its switches on again.

Today got the whole cooling system serviced (radiator). Changed the thermostat valve as it was grown weak, got the radiator fully washed\flushed and also the engine part(where coolant part enters) cleaned, new coolant added, as of now the heating is too less, need to check in further days..

Hi Vinay, I think you also can try changing the thermostat valve, it might be weak.. it costs you 250 for the part. This the part which is responsible for the intake\flow of the coolant..(As the A.S.S told me that, as soon the car reaches certain temp, the valve opens up and the coolant passes with 100% pressure, but if the valve is weak then only 20 to 30% pressure or might block it, hence less amount of coolant flows to the cooling system, so the coolant tank over flows)

Re: Overheating Problem in Maruti 800

I had similar overheating problem in Tata Indigo. Spend Rs 10k but did not resolved the issue. Then later 1 small garage guy suggested for, either replacing or cleaning radiator. I gave him go ahead. He took 2 days and just removed the dust (per him it was almost 1kg) from the radiator, replace the huge pipe clips for better grip & top upped the coolant. He charged less then 2K. The issue is completed resolved.

Now even after 30 minute with AC on, the temperature do not reach to half mark. Hope this will help other to save (10K which I spend for reason / results)

It was again small garage only. My vehicle is 6 year old so prefer with local garage and not ASS.
The garage guy done following, per him it was needed due over heating has caused issue of mixing coolant with engine
1. Changed the Head Gasket,
2. Done head press fitting from the co’s authorized showroom.
3. The diesel glow plug (not sure on name, but this was causing diesel leakage)
4. The timing belt & its cover
5. Engine oil
6. Coolant etc.
