Re: Mahindra XUV5OO: "The Dark Knight" Buying & Ownership Experience [40K Kms Crossed

I tried to point out from where the sound was coming. Another problem is that the sound was not there in the morning but was there in the evening when the following things were working accelerator, suspension and steering. Will try out more.

Regarding alignment can it be possible that it is a problem even if the car is going straight?

If its a alignment problem your car will trend to drift to one side on a straight road, if its a power steering problem, you might find the steering harder than usual and when turning requires more effort also the pump will make noise when turning, if you are on the east of pune lets catch up i might as well see it first had , cheers!

The car is not drifting. no noise when turning the steering at standstill also no hardness in the steering. I dont have a problem coming anywhere. I am in Dange Chowk. Let me check some more today otherwise we can meet on weekend.

I have not had any niggles for a long long time except for again detecting a minor power steering fluid leak that got replaced again in warranty. The vehicle has done over 41k now.

Among the dozens of vehicles i have owned so far, I didnt find owning XUV any different, infact its cost me less in maintenance and its the best service(based on personal experience) i have had even comparing to many foreign brands.

Everything about the xuv is hyped, dont go purely by what you hear on the internet, ill rather do my own research.

Thanks. Yes, the niggles in the XUV were overhyped as only few owners have experienced some which was resolved almost 99%. At the time of launch , we tried to book one but the booking was closed and they reopened booking with some kind of lottery system[surprise]. Then the idea of buying faded away slowly, and we decided to keep one more year(Swift) without upgrading and now we end up getting two cars[:D] for similar price. Clearly, Mahindra have improved its image manifolds after XUV and ofcourse our famous Scorpio.
Glad that you didnt face any niggles. Happy motoring.

a little birdie told me that there is apparently a coil spring bush available for the xuv to make the ride mushy! Its available in mumbai apparently - has any XUV owner tried or heard ?
Raj - you might have heard in Mumbai may be?

It would be nice to know what benefits it brings if at all any ?

Sorry i meant aftermarket, apparently it improves slow speed ride quality - i have no data or experience to support though - just hearsay that i am hoping someone amidst us can validate.

Amit, I think you are referring to the silicone coil spring buffers that are in the market for some time now.

While it does stiffen your ride a bit its just an exaggerated product from what I have heard from various other sources.

This is what you may be referring to

The ride of the XUV is already stiff to begin with.

this silicon Addon will make it even stiffer.

don't know how it will benefit the ride quality on slow speeds.

From what I have heard/read this thing is used to prevent car from getting bottom out. Many Civic owners are using this.

Yes that's right many civic ,city and verna owners are using this , how it helps the xuv I don't know, a garage fella told me it's picking up in Mumbai for xuv, as Superbad said xuv is stiff already I would be keen to see the difference it makes.
I have driven a civic with one of these and yes it didn't bottom as badly

Re: Mahindra XUV5OO: "The Dark Knight" Buying & Ownership Experience [40K Kms Crossed

Sorry for not much updates recently sir, xuv is doing brilliantly well, crossed 42k recently and chugging along. I dont have any single niggle or rattle.

This weekend i drove the xuv and pajero back to back - xuv really drives like a light weight butterfly, everything seems so light after driving the pajero especially, gears, clutch and steering - i am consistently getting in the range of 15-16kmpl(even a high of 17kmpl) now as city driving in the xuv has lessened.

its time for the 3m treatment for xuv - need to do it sometime soon.
