16-17 is fabulous for a cheetah! Well its only if you are a sedate driver.Well keep your speed below 100kmph(run in period).Wishing you happy miles again.

Man, thats mouth watering fuel efficiency especially from a raw engine which is still in its run in period. Your Cheetah looks to have been very kind to your pocket[lol].

re: Mahindra XUV5OO: "The Dark Knight" Buying and Initial Ownership Experience

I had the opportunity to drive an Aria again and here are some of the points I feel Aria is really good :-
These are really my personal opinions and the intention is not tostart a debate(again) but provide a candid feedback having experienced both the vehicles :-

1) Suspension and low speed/high speed bump soaking behaviour of the Aria -I find this simply amazing tune up for indian conditions - The Aria did really well in some very bad offroad conditions. I threw it around at decent speeds and it behaved well for a body on ladder chassis. Because of this i felt it can take more abuse.

2) The Aria has much better boot space and even when you are sitting in the Aria - it does feel spacious.

3) The power delivery of Aria is more linear rather than a surge - many prefer it this way.

4) In my personal opinion the Aria looks more royale and classy.

5) It has a euro ncap 4 rating - so it has proved it crash worthiness.

6) The turning radius is really good for a vehicle its size.

7) It has more stowage/storage area internally - but how much u actually put to use is a different matter.

17 kmpl [:)] that is very good, typically FE will increase day by day so how much it will give in future ? 17 kmpl is total VFM.

Some updates :
I have been behind Mahindra for some time now to sort out the niggles i listed in the first page, while the service centre and RM were looking at it - it couldnt be solved then simply because the electronic troubles were non reproduceable.

I have been called on Monday to the service centre and a team from Mahindra plant will be visiting to check the vehicle - i hope to have a good conversation and hope steps are taken to iron out the initial niggles.

I am told there is a new update available to the infotainment/navigation system and i will be getting that this afternoon. My car is now at the workshop with the Mahindra team from Chakan having a look at the niggles mentioned earlier....

Also expecting some accessories today - the accessories seem to have a longer waiting period than the car [lol]

ehh Mukesh you are ogling at someone taking a bath - bad manners :lol!:

Some Quick Updates based on the actions done by the Mahindra team from Chakan :-

1) They have fixed the rear door folly a lot better now, it shuts easily and no creaks now.
2) Perimetric alarm seems fixed for good - havent had problems since yesterday evening.
3) Tyretronics issues - seems like it was a receiver antenna problem which they have fixed by replacing the antenna itself.
4) Infotainment and Navigation are updated to the latest version ( there was an update released few days back)
5) I am told the ECU was updated too.

The car is on the regular mumbai-pune expressway run now and the above items are under observation - early to say whether they have been fixed for good, but i am very pleased with Mahindra's effort in especially getting a team from the plant to look at the issues.

Yes i agree the early niggles are a hassle to early customers - but that is kind of expected. I am happy as long as they give it the right priority to have these issues fixed - this is by no means a criticism!! Hopefully the next batch of customers will see a more stable product.

Congratulations Iron Rock , your cheetah is looking great! I own an Aria 4X4 Pride variant , noticed your previous posts. Nice to hear from an XUV owner that Aria is also good at some areas. But sad to see even the XUV is facing some early niggles , even i faced some electrical problems with my Aria! FE is really great , i saw in OD mag that the Aria delivers 18kmpl and XUV around 17kmpl and so yes your FE figures are true! I have personally got 16.5kmpl till now. Nice to see both the vehicles giving such awesome FE figures , heck who needs a sedan now just for the sake of high FE! BTW even my Verna won't deliver such figures!

Thanks for passing by cooldhaya, indeed Aria is a good car, if only tata were not so optimistic on the pricing and the after sales service needs drastic improvements - i am not saying Mahindra is too great in this field but with the XUV they seem to have covered the grounds much better(so far) - yes the fuel efficient diesel SUVs are creating a impact now in the 10+ lakh sedan segment too - no wonder!!

BTW on the Aria - if the sales exec at Pune dealership gives me a meaty exchange against my civic - i will be tempted!! If only Tata can convince me they can give me a good service and the initial niggles have been rested. So you never know i might own one of each [;)]

BTW wheres your ownership thread - i wud be very keen to read your take on the Aria you own ?
