Agree, but people in India will also start comparing ES with XUV and Storme same they did with Duster. [lol] So for them all are same, but ES is cheaper than XUV.
Yes, Indeed, people are desperately waiting for ES for the following reasons

1.) It would be cheap as compare to Duster and XUV, Ertiga, etc. due to its under 4mts length

2.) Would be highly fuel efficient.

3.) Its beautiful and small and has many vibrant colours so female drivers would like to own that.

4.) Availability of Service centres across India.

5.) Much sorted out product as India is not the first country to receive the Car and has nil to very less niggles.

I dont think Ecosport is a direct competitor to the XUV. I have seen and sat in the ES here in the UK. It is much smaller and more compact than the XUV.

Families like ours who need a spacious 7 seater vehicle can never consider the Duster or the ES.

But show off kinda people, who are not sure about needs would have huge list of contenders.

It's not a direct competitor yes, but a person here thinks all these are SUVs only, till today people compare Innova with Scorpio and for that matter now XUV too.

This launch is much awaited in this year.

I understand Scorpio's comparison to the Innova because both are 7 seaters. Many families dont buy the Scorpio and Safari as 4x4s, they buy them simply as 7 seater UVs similar to the Innova. But ES is too compact and does not even have 7 seats. Moreover, I guess it will be in a different price range altogether.

Even the Duster is much cheaper than the XUV.

Are you sure you sat in the ES or the kuga or bmax ? Because ES other then brazil , Argentina , china has not been launched anywhere in the world so far.

Guys, a strange request -

I have a XUV which I got on the 4th of September 2012. I left for UK on the 15th of September and have not seen the car since then. My family has been using the car and except for the first two services, it has not been to the A.S.S.

But since I left India, a lot has happened with the XUV with respect to recall, part changes as preventive measures, etc. Now, I am coming back to India soon and the first thing I intend to do is - take the XUV to the A.S.S. and get all the nasty or troublesome parts replaced.

Can you guys give me a list of all the issues I should look for, whether it is the brakes or lights or software upgrade of the infotainment system or even synthetic oil for the gearbox. I mean, I want to list out all the items which can probably go wrong and get them rectified once and for all in my car.

A few of the issues I recollect are:

1) Brake grinding noise - change to Galfer brake pads
2) LEDs in headlights going kaput
3) New ORVMs with improved stoppers
4) New wiper blades (recall)
5) Clutch (can someone remind me what the exact issue was!)
6) Software upgrade of Infotainment system
7) Synthetic oil for gearbox
8) Siren touching belt
9) New brake pedals

But dint you come in the middle some 2-3 months back for couple of days and drove the xuv to Pune and reported us that there were no major issue in your car ? Infact you drove the storme also and gave us a comparo on the xuv vs storme thread too right ? This is what you posted for us on 15th March 2013, 08:07 AM , post #207

Drove Xoovy after a long time... The feel of driving your own car is bliss!

Went to Pune via the Mumbai Pune express highway. Took her till 160 kmph. Since I was with family, I did not push more than that. But performance was effortless and Xoovy remained calm and stable at all times.

In the whole trip, the DIS showed a FE of 12.9 kmpl which includes some city traffic as well.

Oh yes, the "XUV thread" tradition - no niggles! Touch wood.

Btw check if the balancing is perfect which seems to be problem for some

^^^ Will PM you the details.

EDIT: There are still no niggles, touch wood. But I want to make sure that all the recalls or probable defects have been replaced in my car too.
