Finally its truce between Raj and Xover [:D]

Good [clap] Now we will have some serious discussion.

Man autosafari your comment sent me into fits of laughter, you surely have a nice sense of humor, anyways no I am still good old Xover (the same ardent TATA fan ), and no I don't own any Toyota and neither plan to own one in future, nor I am a toyota mark, but yet I felt that people on this forum went little bit too far in criticizing toyota, yes all right they are expensive and their body panels are light, but still you just can not ignore the goodwill they have created in India and world over to become one of world's largest car manufacturer.Hope it clears my standing regarding toyota, cheers
Sense of Humor make our day.

Forgot to congradulate you in your 100th posting a few days ago.

Toyota is strong brand and they are known for trouble free vehicles. The very fact that they could drive out FORD and General Motors from American roads speak about their product quality. But that does'nt mean that they are right always. Fortuner is over priced (almost double). Etios is pathetic to say the least.

And its not just Toyota's forte to make flimsy (car body) cars. Honda is equally good - see the current CITY cars. So is Suzuki.

Scorpio gives a confidence in our mind just by looking the vehicle itself.

Safari is majestic with excellent ride quality but poor in build quality.

New Safari or Merlin must show a quantum leap in quality as seen in Aria, Manza and latest Vista.

I am sure they can. For example, Manza is a good car with almost nil niggles. Still they improved the car without much fan fair. The new Manza came in Feb 2011 has much better interior with soft plastics and a premium feel

Looking at the pics .

Aria is giving me come on let us drive. Thanx to matte finish.
Xuv is reminds me "back again into some korean or japanese car" (glazing finish is almost obsolete and have become mediocre presently.)

side profile,
Aria has a sober appeal, little bit towards "classy"

Xuv is aggressive and bit boyish. (too much of M Pajero, we have lot of them here and i am bored to death seeing them daily)

Both of them have not so good rear, still Xuv have better one here.

xuv Cheetah concept is just hogwash or just advertisement terminology I couldn't connect it to a cheetah from any side. but yet, but yeah I could relate it to M Pajero, and toyota prado. very much accurately.

Aria looks like Retard from front with mouth wide open. xuv has a definite composure.

I feel Aria is more urbane & sophisticated while XUV 500 looks as if they are there on road to bully others.

Road presence is felt more by saloons, gives more premium feel than MUV/SUVs. As Aria is a cross-over, it does this job better than XUV.

So, if you are the bully type, opt for XUV, if you prefer sophistication, go with Aria, infact Safari looks better in this case too than XUV 500.

Eagerly waiting for Merlin [:)].

you are right.

i wont say sophisticated, i would say - classy.

really? [evil]

I agree. But then it depends. I prefer the XUV's interiors. Even though it "looks" messy, its loaded with features & small nice touches.

Design wise, I have complains with neither. Miles ahead of the much more costlier Fortuner.

100% correct.

[thumbsup]
Guys just got some new info about XUV:

1] Aria has got hydraulic bonnet lifter while XUV seems to have manual bonnet lifter, so potential XUV owners will have to use their own physical strength everytime they would like to lift the bonnet to check engine oil level or just to clean the engine compartment.

2] Aria has got 2 extra AC vents for the middle seat occupents, right in middle of both front seats in the floor, now I don't think its a deal breaker but atleast a nice feature to have , so total no of AC vents in
ARIA = 10
XUV =8

I find the XUV genuinely good looking.
Yes, pictures dont do it justice somehow. the car looks much better in flesh.

but still, IMO Aria looks a lot better & classier.

LOLZ. Are you sitting & comparing what is not there in the XUV which the Aria has?

Yes, the XUV does not have hydaulic lifter, I had mentioned this. This would have been a really nice touch but for the price, I cant ask for more.

Two AC vents near the foot, as you said, I really dont care as they are useless compared to the pillar mounted ones.

I will be doing a test drive of the XUV next weekend. Just a few kms next to the Mahindra showroom is the TATA showroom. Not that I have not driven the Aria before but I can do a back to back comparo of both these vehciles. ANYBODY INTERESTED?

Innova toh ghar ki kheti hain !!!

I hope you guys understood!
Yes I do understand that you have a Innova at home, but what I meant that since this thread is about Aria , XUV and Innova, so once you test XUV and Aria consequently , and begin to write your experience then you can also compare their ride, handling and engine performance with that of Innova to come to general (or your subjective) perspective about all these three cars.
Am eager to see your impression abt XUV and also its competitors.

From what I may assume, innova would have better handling, Aria would have better ride & XUV would have better engine performance. Lets see how it turns up.
