K&N Air Filters

the af is removed from its cover for cleaning

i have a doubt. what if we put an universal conical AF in the place of the stock and place it in the cover??? what will happen if its an error??

and i ve ordered the Real time ECU/OBD2 scanner via ebay and ll get it by next week and will post about its experiance on my cars connecting to ANdroid and Laptop. If possible a tutorial about it

Just fitting a conical filter to it is not the answer. The intake pipe has got to be re-designed. I hope I will have this sorted by the time I return to India.

@drifter. man i guess you are very much interested in powering up the tata nano.. any special reason?

what is the major difference we feel with the stock replacement filter and the performance(universal) filter. some people say that both aids mileage. is that true. a guy from tata motors service told me a customer with K&N AF is getting 30+KMPL where as i get 25 to 29KMPL(depends on the road and my driving mood)

With all air intake revisions I have designed so far we saw between 3 and 12% fuel savings depending on the car.

I can't speak for other products as I never bothered testing them for fuel savings. However. My aim always was to concentrate on performance gains while lowering fuel consumption. I am sure that some of them see some improvements.

Is it recommended to use, in place of original filters, or its not required?

@RSM I do have one installed in my car, instead me telling pls go a head

& get it installed. You will for sure enjoy the beauty of driving with K&N filter.

I design my own systems and those are the ones I use.

Everyone likes to change their air filters to K&N and other high end filters.But with increased flow isn't it letting more particles into the engine.How does this help a car in the long run?If people are looking at free flow filters I think they should read this article.
