Washed my Jopasu Duster as well. Actually, my mother washed it and I forgot to tell her to not use detergents or soap. She washed it in a soap solution. The efficiency has definitely gone down but it still picks up dust.

Hello,

Don't wash it frequently, the water gets dirty because those threads have wax in them to wipe away the dust without making a scratch and bring shine to the car.
Indeed but it doesn't feel good (by heart) to use a dusty duster. I will only wash when its very dusty and when its efficiency decreases, will buy new one instead. It was my first wash, will see what happens next time.

Now that its price has increased, it doesn't make a efficient product. :frown:

For better results keep it packed when not in use, best way to maintain.
I do and always keep it in car boot so nobody takes it and misuse.

My city is very dusty and no good roads so the car becomes dirty soon. I don't have closed garage nor I like to use car covers.

Mags black wax and proklear raw help my car less attracted to dust and the duster works great.

Thanks...
Best Regards

Guys, how safe these dusters are on the cars, wont they make swirls/scratches on the paint? I normally do a QD with a plush MF towel.

These dusters are made to wipe off loose dust effectively making the body shine, they contain some percent of wax so as to avoid from the bristles making scratches/swirls, I didn't face any swirls/scratches when I used to wipe my dark coloured alto.

As a precautionary measure, if you don't need any scratches or swirls, suggest you get wax treatment done for the whole body.

Please explain what QD is.

Please explain what QD is.
I think GreyCruze is telling about QD that is short for quick detailer. Which is used to quickly clean stains like mud, bird drop, tree sap, over wax and etc but its not worth to use daily and/or on whole car body. Also it doesn't contain any type of waxes.

So far I have bought and used two Jopasu car duster. They are good till some extents but should be used on light dust, otherwise it collects plenty of dust and deduces its life.

Both of my car dusters got fully dirty which led me wash them. I have used wash and wax shampoo from Proklear and they work quite well but not as good as new though.

If you don't like to wash then you will have to buy a new one every 6 months. However, Jopasu car duster are not like before now. They have reduced quality, quantity of threads and also increased the price. IMO, It doesn't seems worth now.

Yes QD is Quick Detailing, thanks for the clarification help Cracing :-)
It's a spray which can clean and also got some lubrication in it, so it won't scratch while cleaning (Eg: Angelwax QED or ONR). Using a good microfiber towel with good gsm (anything equal or above 380 gsm).

Yes the duster does similar thing. The threads and wax in it attracts dust but doesn't push. When more dust is collected, the duster stops picking any dust and it starts to push instead. That time you'll have to either wash or buy a new one.

However, QD is not a wax nor it protects car paint. It is just for cleaning. You should get wax treatment like Vishwas said. If you wish you can also get polished before waxing and sealent after waxing. Of course it all comes under car detailing and I sure you already know it. [:)]

Edit: Do you use QD for cleaning whole car?

Re: How Do You Clean Your Car?

Hello Sethu, I am also using Jopasu duster and I am very happy with its performance in cleaning the dust straight off from the car.
However I have read in some reviews that washing it will decrease its life/efficiency as the strands are made up of some specially baked cotton..Not sure how far this is true but I have never washed it and also made sure not to use it when the car is wet.
If washing does reduce its efficiency to a considerable extent, then I would prefer to buy a new given the fact that this product really lasts long.[:)]

I'm unable to recollect where I read that this duster contains wax(or maybe somewhere in the previous pages of this thread), but the instructions said to clean it whenever the duster stops picking dust in a lukewarm water, and when I performed this clean, witnessed the moist in the water.

My duster after 3 years of purchase is doing fairly well, yet taking off loose dust in a better way.

Yes I did same at first but it stopped picking dust. Then my friend as well as forum members suggested to use wash and wax shampoo which made the duster work again. [:)]

The Jopasu duster was good that time but now it has less threads which exposes inner material (plastic) and that may scrape the car body. When asked to seller, he said its for efficiency and makes light weight so ladies can also use it. [roll]

I am using this jopasu duster from more than a year now. And i have washed it 3-4 times. It is still working very good. I washed it in washing machine using TIDE (detergent power) and dried it in machine only. If you let it dry in sunlight or even in shade it will become harder .
