Wow.
My favourite Jeep, Wrangler.
BTW I spotted this new "Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8"(? not sure though) last month on the to my office in CHINA

It looked fabulous to say the least. We could be seeing some of these in India in the near future.

it seems a base model ? because the grand cherokee iam seeing here practically everyday is full of chrome grill

I too see many chromed Cherokee here in China. This was the only one I liked as it was devoid of those excessive and flashy chrome grill. It could very well be a MOD job as even the alloys were in black finish.

Also I read that Chrysler Launched Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Black Edition for China.There are so many different variants available around. I doubt these will ever make it to India as they are too expensive [ at around 1.19 million Chinese RMB= around 1 Crore approximately]

Also I read that Chrysler Launched Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Black Edition for China.There are so many different variants available around. I doubt these will ever make it to India as they are too expensive [ at around 1.19 million Chinese RMB= around 1 Crore approximately]

I love the chrome actually on the jeep grand Cherokee because its done neatly

Looks better than the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, still not to my liking though.

Registered Jeeps spotted in Mumbai, launch in October

Jeep's Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler on the streets of Mumbai. These vehicles were registered under MH-12 plates, which is where Ranjangaon is located. The Grand Cherokee and Wrangler and due to be launched in India, in October, around the festive season.

The Jeep Wrangler will be the true off-roader crafted for the real enthusiasts who wishes to challenge any difficult terrain. The Wrangler will be priced at about Rs 20lakhs, as it will be a CBU in the initial stages. The Grand Cherokee will be launched along with the Wrangler.

However, it will cater to a different set of buyers, as it is luxury and off-roader. Something in between the Freelander 2 and the Discovery 4. The company is ready to introduce new Jeep brand in India, and also launch the Abarth Punto around the festive season.

All these vehicles will be sold through Fiat's new exclusive showrooms. The company has been going strong in terms of the new upcoming dealerships and the focus is to increase the network not just for sales, but even service. It was since 1st of April 2013, that the company split from Tata to create its new dealer network.

Currently, the company has the Grande Punto and the Linea in its fleet and soon we will see the Abarth Punto and the two Jeeps being added to the current showrooms.

Spied – 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee tests on the Mumbai Expressway

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was spied again very recently in India.Jeep, or rather Fiat India, is testing two versions of the Grand Cherokee in India: the 2014 model year which was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, and the previous generation version.

The one spotted here is the 2014 MY as can be seen by the taillight design. There’s no confusion on which version is identified as Fiat India MD Nagesh Basavanhalli confirmed to us that Jeep would strictly bring the latest products to India. He also confirmed local assembly of these cars to beat the high tariff but refused to share a timeline for the start of local production.

The Grand Cherokee in the UK has two diesel engine options which would most likely make its way into India. A 3.0-liter CRD V6 produces 188bhp and 440Nm of torque in the base variant. The same engine is tuned to produce 247bhp and 570Nm of torque in the higher variants. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard across the range.

The Jeep brand is expected to be launched in India by October/festive season this year. To start with, two models would be available – the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. Both these models would be imported through the CBU route. The Cherokee is manufactured at the Jefferson Avenue Plant in Detroit.

The Jeeps would not be sold through the Fiat dealer network. Jeep is aiming for dealerships in the 10 biggest Indian cities in the first phase of its retail strategy. Independent Fiat dealers would be approached to invest on Jeep dealerships for their cities.

The Grand Cherokee is expected to carry a price tag in the vicinity of about INR 45-50 lakhs.

Spied – Jeep Wranglers and Grand Cherokee caught at a service station in Chennai

The Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee would kick start the American brand’s Indian debut, which would take place sometime during the festive season (October).

The Jeeps seem to be undergoing a maintenance check/service at the local Fiat service station in Chennai.

The members also report that the prototypes had a GPS and a system that analyzed various parameters. The Wrangler Unlimited is a diesel version while the Wrangler Sport is a petrol.

Jeep would commence sales in the 10 biggest Indian cities and would have its own dedicated showrooms. Initially, the Jeeps could be brought in as CBUs with the company taking a call on local CKD assembly later on.

Expect a price tag of about INR 20 lakhs upwards for the Wrangler and about INR 45-50 lakhs for the Grand Cherokee.

Spotted Grand Cherokee and Wrangler together yesterday on NH8 while coming back from Dahanu.

Wrangler was looking cool, but Cherokee was extra cool.

Was not able to take pics as both vehicles were going opposite side on the other side of road.

Great Dhamesh,Wrangler looks like a Traditional Rugged SUV and Grand Cherokee looks like a Modern Refined SUV.would hav loved to see pics.Fiat is testing 2011 as well as new 2014 Cherokee here in India but they are testing Wrangler old model and no new 2013 updated model is tested here alongside Wrangler old and Cherokee models.why??is Fiat launching latest model Wrangler or not?Mr.Nagesh had said they will bring both cars latest models to India but still no signs of new updated Wrangler testing in India.

Hope they price these two products sensibly.And a diesel engine is a must for India,heck even Audis/BMWs/Mercs all have a very strong diesel based portfolio.

They are working hard to price these both SUV's sensibly and to undercut the prices of its German rivals.Diesel engine is a must and should and will be launched in these SUV's considering huge demand for diesel engine in luxury SUV segment.

Sir,i had read in TFI forum that Fiat and Chrysler are working hard to keep the price the as low as possible and competitive.Chrysler understands and has studied the nature of indian market.Fiat is known for pricing its products very competitively lower than segment rivals with more features and offer more value for money for buyers.So,Chrysler being a part of Fiat will also be doing the same thing,if they price higher than expected then we can assume that they want to earn more profits rather than volumes for its flagship products and create Brand Image of Jeep and Fiat.
