my tyres had over 4 punctures each before I threw them. imagine throwing such expensive tyres in 35k kms.

bridgestones develop small cracks over few years. I had the same in my i10 before going to Yokohama.

I have a xcent s abs model. Can i install ivrm with reverse camera from company.
Sure you can! Try to get it installed from Hyundai itself, because I find the stock one works and integrates much better than other branded/chinese stuff. I must warn you, it will be tad costlier than other options, but it is worth of it!

Hello Friends,

I am getting delivery of my Silver Xcent SX on 5 March. Need suggestions on below points:

> I am getting free seat covers(Normal Fit) from the dealer. There is another seat cover that will be stitched to the seats. Dealer is asking 6K extra for that. Not sure if its worth.

> I want to fit illuminated scuff plates but the dealer is not having it. They have normal steel plates. Should I get them fixed from outside or will it void the warranty?

> Should I go for anti rust and body coating. Is it required on new car? Can I go for them after 1 year?

This is my first car and I am new to all these stuffs. Please excuse for any mistakes. [:)][:)]

Welcome to TAI and congrats on the Xcent.

1. Seat covers - I would say go for normal ones and ensure that the fit is proper. I have not heard about the stitch-to-seat covers from the dealer and can not comment. 6k extra looks too much as normal art leather ones can come from aftermarket at this price.

2. Scuff plates - Confirm from a good aftermarket shop and ensure that they do not cut/splice any factory wiring. Dealer may say otherwise. The key is to revert back to stock setup without any trace of the modification.

3. Coating - It is better to do antirust coating as early as possible because the underbody will be clean for the coat to stick properly. For the paint, you can try paint sealant. Many experts here suggest againts Teflon coating on new cars.

i have recently added scuff plates, not the illuminated ones, got it from ebay for 650, has double tape on the back for sticking it.

yesterday i had gone for inquiring about tyres, i got quote for yokohama earth1 185/60/r14 for 4300, michlein xm2 185/60/r14 for 5100. these rates are without bargaining and without deducting the Tyre exchange. (Rates in mumbai)
