That is what we call coincidence.

I bought the navigator and went to munaar and kodai.

The best part for ME was , i down hill munaar and climb up kodai , same day - inspite of every one's oppose. (remember there was 6 adult and a kid in vista tdi.)

HMMM theft attempt , chennai needs to be cautious!!

Hmmm.. that's a sad thing Dhaya.
Are you going to get it replaced under Insurance?
And have you complained to the Police?

No offence dude, Ilango, but it is both unsafe and illegal to travel in a 4+1 car with 6+1 people.
I request to to refrain from doing so in the future, buddy.

@ AMG Well but not really very disappointing. Sometimes it shows the best route even here in Chennai and sometimes it shows a longer route. It requires some update from mapmyindia.

@ Ilango Coincidence ,but i went to Kodaikanal first! Yeah the thing is why such things are happening alone to me![frustration] First because of some stupid biker's mistake i lost my bumper and dent on bonnet and had to replace bumper and repaint it for 15k and now another waste of Rs.450! I have spent only 12k so far on maintenance but approx 16k for damage![cry]

@ Arkin Its only Rs.450 so i am not claiming insurance. And no i din complain to the Police. I mean even if i do so its not going to make any difference i believe.

Well those who know about Chennai my car was parked in 2nd Avenue when this happened , a busy crowded area in Anna Nagar with lots of cars parked in the streets and traffic jams even upto 10 in the night! Seems like no place is safe![cry][frustration]

Dhaya, That's bad. It seems to be the same trick which was used on my car for theft by breaking the rear quarter glass. Have you now got it replaced?

Well yeah but am fortunate that the thief returned empty handed! No i have still not changed it as it requires two hours to change in the authorized service station near my home and costs Rs.450 and am busy with my dad's business for the past two weeks! Will probably try to change it atleast this week.

If the thief had entered my car , he would have got or made great money! List of things which were inside my car:

1. My sony Digicam worth Rs.12k.
2. Mapmyindia navigator worth Rs.8k.
3.My sony Mp3 HU
4.One 8GB pendrive and an 8GB Mp3 player(used to play songs by connecting it to my HU).
5.Two branded sunglasses of my friends each worth approx Rs.2k.

And in addition to this he would have possibly tried for the ECM too.

First, you should not leave so many valuable items inside the car. Also make it a habit to detach the audio system’s head unit. Second, Hope you’re keeping the car parked in a safe place until the glass is replaced; otherwise, he might try the luck on your car again if find glass is in the same condition.

Hmmm i actually took my digicam to show the pictures of my recent tip to Kodaikanal and Munnar and Navigator also to show them how it functions. Else i would not have these in my car.

And secondly yeah the parking lot in my apartment is pretty safe. I once even left my bike keys after parking the bike in the bike itself by mistake one night and found the keys there itself in the bike next morning!

@ Mukesh Do you mean the remote lock alarm? I don think it goes ON when the glass is broken. It goes on only when the door is opened with another key.

Well yeah the area where i reside is very safe for automobiles but more of chain thefts and necklace snatching![frustration]

Sad to hear about the robbery attempt but at the same time you were lucky enough that it was an unsuccessful attempt.

Changed the quarter glass yesterday , it took KUN Hyundai two hours to change it and i waited there in the lounge watching TV and surfing the net ( the lounge has wi-fi facility). The total bill including the labour and tax was Rs.360/-. Still am yet to get the tints on the new glass and probably will get it done today.
