I know this cause i have personally seen a 250w RMS rated Seas L2Roy taking more than 500 watts. 2 of these subs were powered by masconi zero 4 in one of my friends car.
So you are saying even if amp is more powerful than sub there won't be any issues right?

it won't blow, actually subs can take much more than what they are rated for like the example i have specified above and i have seen rainbow profi series speaker taking more than 150 watts. Chameleons taking more than 200 watts and so on. High quality audio components usually are capable of much more than what they are rated for. And Rated power is the lowest power at which a system will perform best.
