Ask them for your wheel alignment report. If they have done it then they should provide it. I did not know what is done in "Idle Speed Actuator Cleaning" and "CLIP"[roll]
It maintains the engine's idling rpm. It's good that they cleaned it.

My santro's ac used to trip at idle , it only worked after a continuous light tap on the accelerator. Mechanic opened and cleaned this part and i don't have any problems.

Clip must be some consumable item.

@ auto - no offence but don't you check the items and bill amount while shopping ? If there's any item missing but the bill has mentioned it won't you ask the shopkeeper about the same ?
Same goes for car service. Advisor will always list the work needed to be done on your car , get your signature and then only starts the work. At that time you should ask him about the significance of listed items.
If you don't he will mention unnecessary items in the next service also.
The balancing mentioned in the bill is the labor to open the tyres and using their balancing machine. Weights are the actual thing which balance the tyre so that they don't wobble at high speeds. Don't mention about the wieghts but do asl him for the report. If he gives you some accuse demand a refund. Most probably they didn't do anything. Do ask him about the 4th and 5th item.

@allhyundaicars I don't necessarily agree with the analogy. My question here isn't on fraudulent billing, but rather on mis-selling services. There is lack on information on which all are necessary and which can be avoided. The service advisor will be of no help - he will create a sales pitch to make all services necessary. On my part, i tried to browse different forums to check that - but couldn't find any comprehensive list.

That's why i told you to check the manual and do the servicing accordingly. There are many other things like ac vent cleaning , supercharger additive, underbody lubrication which are unnecessary. And i wasn't talking about fraudulent billing , i was just saying you should ask each and every work done on the car. Also if customer care call you do tell them the work done wasn't explained by the advisor.
Ps :always ask for feedback form before paying the bill.

My New Hyundai Xcent Base 1.2 Petrol VIN/Chassis No.:MALA741CLFM136114 Engine No.: G4 LAFM801213 Registration No.: DL1Z 6025 Date of Delivery: 3 Nov 2015 The above mentioned car engine failed at 1320 KM on 13 Nov Just after first free service. This is the quality of engines given by hyundai...my car is standing in workshop in gurgaon from last 2 days but not even the snag analysis has been done properly. They are just saying that there is problem with engine head/ block and they will send report to hyundai and will take action once the reply comes. Totally frustrated...pathetic service..bad product.
I am facing the same problem with Hyundai xcent. Even I am asking for engine replacement. What exactly was the conclusion in your case...?

Hi guys,
I'm facing a central locking issue in the last few days. Usually when I lock from the remote, the indicator lights blinks once and unlocking blinks twice.
Last few days, I noticed they don't flash when locking sometimes even when all doors are locked properly. But when unlocking it blinks twice consistently.
Has anyone faced similar issue?
I tried to investigate further and ruled out the doors and boot doors as the indicator in the console will light up if there is an issue with the door switch.
I suspect it could be the engine hood, but not sure. Can someone try to lock with the hood open and check if the indicators blink? I'm asking because the user manual states that all doors including engine hood must be closed to lock. However in my case, indicators blink sometimes even with the hood open.

thanks

Posting the resolution for the benefit of others. Went to service station last week and showed them the issue. They reset the module, but that didn't fix it. Later they checked all the door locks and found the rear left door lock switch not working properly. The SA said some water possibly entered the door and reached the lock switch and caused the malfunction. After cleaning it, I don't see any problems. It seems to be working fine now.
Thanks,

Guys need some advice with this one.

I own a Grand i10 2017 petrol sportz optional which has clocked ~9k kms. i have been noticing from last few days that the car is does not feel very planted on the highways. Below the speed of 70 kmph everything appears okay but 70 kmph, i get a feeling that the car is a bit unsettled. Steering feels kind of vague and it feels like car is loosing direction every now and then especially on the bad sections of the highway. There were couple of instances when the car almost fishtailed when i took a small speed hump at a slightly higher speed. Wheel balancing and alignment were done 3k kms back from a reputed place.Car is due for second service and i will surely put it across to Hyundai but i have very less hope from Hyundai since most of their technicians appears to have no clue to work on complex issues. Any advice regarding this will be appreciated.

Given my Grandi10 for 4th servicing. Even after chopping most of the things from service the estimated bill is still floating around 10K.

1) Synthetic Oil - Rs.3500
2) Paid Service - Rs. 850
3) Injector cleaning - 820
4) Replacement of engine belt (it is slightly deteriorating) - Rs.900
5) Brake shoe and pads - Rs.750
6) Consumable - Rs.300
7) Spark plugs and Gasket - Rs. 250
8) AC check and disinfection - Rs.500

Apart from this there is labor cost + Service + Taxes of around Rs.4000 [cry]

My yearly running is approx 8-10 K. I told SA that last year i have done AC Disinfection with them to that he said AC disinfection means cleaning duct, Inspecting / Changing AC filter and clearing the flow. Last time it was AC Disinfection Level 3 so now he will do AC Disinfection Level 1 ([confused]). To add to this he shown me his tab and said that this is standard routine they follow for every service.

Within few hours i will get my car back, need to go thoroughly through the bill to check what amount he is mentioning under Paid service head.

You can skip the synthetic oil then and change to semi-synthetic if you wish. You will save 2k. And about the belt. It's a rubber part and it will last more than you think. It will have some cracks but it will last around 100k kms. Just informing you for next time service. Consumables amount is high. Do ask him what all he charged you for.

The cabin air filter cleaning is a routine job but the disinfectant is not. Do ask him what he did in this. Used foam or what ? And ask him to remove the air vent cover and check for yourself if they cleaned or not.

Looks like Hyundai service center has taken you for a royal ride.

1. Did you opt for synthetic oil or the SA forced you into it? By opting for mineral oil, you could have saved 2.5k on your bill.
2. Looks unusually low for a paid service. Even in my tier 3 city it is 1150 rs+ taxes.
3. Not required. This is again one of those items to inflate the bill.
4. I don't know what an engine belt is. If its the timing belt, it costs ~3k.
5. This looks okay to be considering that your car may have run for ~40k.
6. Not sure whats included in consumables.
7. Price looks okay for spark plugs.
8. Totally unnecessary. Explanation from SA for this charge appears vague too.Replacement of AC filter is a part of paid service.

Unfortunately this seems to be the case with most Hyundai service centers. Technicians are barely capable to diagnose the issues and the SA's are only interested in selling the services/ accessories. During my first service, even before i finished explaining my concerns, SA was more keen to show me the array of paid accessories for my car. I had to be stern to bring him in line. Although Hyundai spares for small cars are very reasonably priced, the service cost is always inflated by the dealer. In your particular case, i would suggest you to raise a complaint against dealer through Hyundai customer service and also don;t forget to post your complaint in Hyundai facebook page. The dealer is likely to call you back and wave off some of these useless charges. If your car is not under extended warranty, please look for a FNG to service your cars henceforth. If you are keen in using synthetic oil, buy Shell hilux synthetic oil from Amazon. Amazon price is 2.8k for 4 litres compared to 5k in the market and get it replaced from an FNG.

Thanks for all the information <allhyundaicars> and <sumesh>. You guys have definitely given us knowledge about the things in service.

This time have chopped out most of the items from SA list because last time <allhyundaicars> has given some tips. Next time will be more alert in asking counter questions for each thing SA says.
