Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

I beileve Hyndai is one of best coming to service[clap]
Yes its costly, Heard from my close relative each service cost him 6-10k for 5 year old Santro.

Toyoto is winner here.

Mine is Wine red

Thanks Anshuman8 In short i will post pics.

Maintaining Hyundai being costly or cheap depends on you, the owner. I own a 2013 March Santro Xing and my usage is hardly 6000 kms a year, only highway trips and very very rare in-city trips with family.

Yes, KUN Hyundai Ambattur in Chennai quoted 7500+ GST for regular service.

Guess what, the last service was done by me in dirt cheap Rs. 2,650.00 at 32000 kms on Odo (5 years and 4 months old car).

Yes, he's an FNG mechanic and the below jobs were done:

1. All filters were bought by me from Hyundai Mobis for Rs. 692.00, which includes Air Filter (LPG adaptible one- 387 INR ), Oil Filter (89 bucks I guess) and Petrol Filter (216.00). Petrol filter needed to be changed in 3 years or 30,000 kms as per manual, but I had reached that benchmark just this year, so changed.

2. Shell Helix Petrol Car Engine Oil cost me 920.00 rupees and was rounded off to 900.00 by a gentle dealer for 3.5 litres (car engine oil capacity 3.1 L). I still have some balance oil in my car boot.

3. Labour Cost paid - Rs. 700.00 (proposed labour from mechanic was 800.00, but I somehow dilli dallied it and brought down by 100.00 [clap], since he's the mechanic for my car since 2013)

4. Water Wash - 350.00 bucks with another water wash station - a decent job doer.

Overall cost :
> Rs. 2650.00
> Petrol for 30 kms [frustration] (since I had to get the service done in Saturday by evening and water wash was done on Sunday, so double petrol)
> 2nd half of my Saturday and more then first half of my Sunday

That's it. The car is running great, still touching 145 kmph with no efforts on highways, which I rarely hit with my non ABS vehicle considering family safety and mileage

Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

Yesterday i visited Kothari Hyundai (Pune) showroom and got below details of Grand i10 Magna (P) Metallic :

ExShowroom - 454959
Insurance - 16296
RTO Tax + Reg. +S.card - 41890
Other Charges - 6300
Rubber Mat Kit + Ext.Wnty(3Yr) - 4865
Total On Road - 524310
0% Dep - 3157
Discount - No discount. Not even corporate discount [frustration]
Freebies - Only Mud Flap [cry]
Waiting period - 2-3 weeks
Accessories - Please check attached list along with price.

As per dealer it is compulsory to go with their insurance for first year. When i enquired about "Other Charges" they told me it is for service rendered with resgistration and other formalities of car including service tax.

The booking amount they are demanding is Rs.25000 and cancellation penalty is Rs.10000

Should i insist dealer on any more freebies / discount ?

Taking insurance from dealer is not at all compulsary and the same would have been mentioned in your booking invoice.

You can even opt not to register with them.

If you have your insurance agent with you, or if you can take insurance from PolicyBazaar or CoverFox, or a particular insurance carrier , go ahead.
