Hi Deceptron,

Took insurance from NIC as my father is working there,
I took comprehensive 15300 INR.
Now you might have understood why i took from outside:) Because Some one is there to assist me

If you took from dealer you have flexibility of Cashless accident& repairs etc.
check with dealer once for full details.

Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

@Turbo mate, Thanks for your info. The price which i got is through online from ICICI lombard website with their live assistance. But sure i will check with the dealer again.

And sorry to hi-jack your thread. ( Mods, please push this post to a new thread if its not appropriate to discuss here )

I went for the PDI today and noticed couple of things that came to my attention.

1. The ODO says total of 18kms have been driven ( before registration )
2. Apollo Tyres All seemed brand new. ( didn't check the MDY yet )
3. Engine bay looks clean and new with engine hood cover stating 1.2 KAPPA
4. The last thing i noticed when checking the driver side rear wheel, I noticed some rust inside the under body. I went further down to inspect this and noticed it is actually something that connects the exhaust muffler ( not sure if that's the right word ). I tried my best to capture this and due to heavy rain the ground is so messy and i couldn't go more than that. Please check the attached image to know what i'm talking about.

5. Manufacture Month is OCTOBER 2013

6. The sales person is standing upside down with his words, there wont be any battery issues.
Since automatic is newly manufactured model. So they've definitely fixed it. But still.. his words are not satisfactory for me.

Have any of you guys experienced this battery issue ? keeping your car idle for minimum 3-4 days and starting again.

On the other end.. I'm also thinking to wait till next year Feb/march. Just so i can make sure and get the JAN 2014 Make. But the dealer is blackmailing about, price may get higher next year. Which makes me to cancel the whole thing.

Any suggestions/advices/help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Rust in brand new car?
Photo looks like an welding joint with some alloy coloured as light brown
Mine is magna version i kept car idle for 4 days no battery drain happened but yes problem seems to be with magna+ high end models.

If you are not satisfied with PDI reject it.

Yeah, that's what i thought. I looks like a Rust or something like welding joint.
I couldn't go further deep than that to check. The ground is very messy for this rain.

Is this a normal thing and appears on all grands or just this one ? If you don't mind can you check on yours and confirm back ? I'd really appreciate that.

thanks in advance.

Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

Hey deception, if you have been alloted the car and your car has already arrived than you should go ahead and buy it as when you will get next car will not be sure due to high demand.

And regarding price rise all companies are increasing prices from 1st jan 2014 so why pay more money as you have been already alloted a car.

So i would say that you go ahead and take the delivery of your grand and start living a grand life instead of thinking for 2014 model.

Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

Today checked for the 2nd time with the marked issues which i had in mind. That picture which i was referring above is not actually a rust. My bad... I checked total 9 ( 3 AT & 6 MT ) grand i10's in the yard and all of them has same welding/mark. So, i guess it is how they've made in factory.

under-body looks clean as well. And Now, We've proceeded for registration.

EDD: Saturday - Monday

---------------

Crusier, So true about high demand but that doesn't mean that i have to accept whatever condition the car is. While the battery was my only concern, later yesterday i found out about the rust and thought it is something damaged. But hopefully it is not, I checked this on other grand cars at yard ( white, twilight blue, stardust, winered, orange..etc ) All of them has same markings. The engineer explained, it's a welding joint and that's how it looks usually and mostly it goes invisible when we do the under-body/anti-rust work.

But again, you're right about the prices in 2014 and i don't feel like paying anymore than this for a car with no freaking ABS and Airbags. It is the sexy outlooks that grabbed my heart and soul.

Thank you for sharing your views and suggestions mate. I have now made my choice and waiting for the day to push the start button with no keys!

----------------

Thanks again to everyone out there as well.
I will make a new thread with detailed specs... in couple of weeks.
