Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Calculated my mileage for the first time using Tank Full method. Got 560 kms from 38.6 litres, which averages to about 14.5kmpl. Driving was mostly during the night, so not a lot of bumper-to-bumper traffic situations. A.c.was also on 1st speed for most of the time. Not bad, I'd say.

how much is the reading on the odometer?
After the first service at 950 kms (one month was earlier than 1200 kms) now it reads 2155 kms, my speed was always 80-100 most of the time on highways, but at small village roads it was like 25-50 max.
Edit: My AC was on 95% time

That is indeed very good FE figures.

I am having an average of 13.8 - 14.2 on tank full method. 70% of my driving is in bumper to bumper traffic but I use AC very less (around 20%).

The clutch has to be light right from the break-in period if the pedal feels hard , there may be something wrong. Pedal linkage, cable, cross shaft, or pivot ball are common causes. Sometimes a blockage or worn seals in the hydraulic system causing vacuum pressure leak can also cause a hard clutch .This is not normal you should take the car to H.A.S.S.
Yeah, i am planning to visit HASS this weekend. I wanted to have a detailed checkup, servicing and refilling with fresh oil for engine, gear, brakes. My odometer reads 5818 and its still another 3 to 4 months to go for the second service. Somehow, i feel the second service should be done at around 5000 kms instead of 10000 kms.

Will be completing a year this december.Got my software upgraded during the second service. Let me hope that all is well.will get to know if this works. Will not use the car for a week. What do you suggest? Should I leave the car with the fuse on?
Yes please check with Fuse ON. I never had achance to keep it idle for more than 3days after the upgrade

Checked with the fuse on.the car was idle for 8 days and guess what the battery was as dead as a door nail! So the software upgrade didn't work. I was told by the road side assistance guy that even keeping the fuse off doesn't stop battery drain. So after 11k kms this is the single biggest regret with the grand.mine is a nov/Dec 2013 make.:( I have been asked to manually disconnect the battery.

The root cause of this is a faulty software chip .The software update is just cover up and also I've heard that this issue is rectified in newer batches .Didn't observe this in my case and I hope that it never happens [:)], mine in march 14 make

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Found this information on internet on some website that the elite i20s BCM (Body control module) does have an option to enable auto door lock as a user configurable option and same is the case with Grand i10 and Xcent .This can be very well enabled at the service station using the device " G-Scan" .
But do we have that function for India made car?

Drove 650 Kms in a day in my GRAND. Driving for 13Hrs with 3 short brakes.
The car was an ease on drive and comfort :). It was mostly on a two lane highway with lots of bad patches. I had AC on speed-1 all the time (mostly recirculation). Running average 17.4 KMPL

which floor mats is best for the grand i10? Anybody using star 3d floor mats, please share your reviews.
Well Im using 3d floor mats and I must say they are very good at keeping the dirt and muck away from the floor. They are shaped in such a way that you can easily remove them while cleaning and they also cover almost the entire carpet area of the floor. I got it for around 1.5k. Worth the price! [:)]

I got a question regarding the key FOB of grand i10. I was driving my friend's i10 and I am not able to find any slot of the manual engine ignition using the manual key provided in the key FOB. Can you guys throw some light on this.
