The plastic handle of the left air vent broke while the interior of the car was being cleaned at a car wash last weekend. I guess the cleaner had applied too much force while cleaning that area.
Can anyone suggest how best to repair this? The vent is currently stuck in a closed position.

I have a similar issue with 2 vents broken. Spoke with Service Advisor, as per them replacement is 700-750 per vent.

That's pretty expensive considering the purpose is to change only the plastic part, not the entire duct.

Found out the part details from the site below which confirms the entire duct is worth 700/-.

Hyundai Grand i10: Central Facia Panel

1 x Duct Assy-Ctr Air Vent Lh| 97410B49004X +Rs. 684

What i'm actually looking for is just the plastic part on the front. Any idea if its available? What is that part known as? Any part numbers?

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Braking Problems at Biting Point/Lower RPMs at stop and go traffic:

I had a really bad experience with my Hyundai Grand I10 Asta(O) Petrol Twilight Blue today which is just 10 days old and covered around 650 kms on ODO. I faced the similiar issue twice.

1st Instance: At signals i usually maintain sufficiently large distance between the vehicle in the front and my car, this happened at the signal near my office. I generally stop by coming to the biting point(Half Clutch) and then applying the brake. This technique works well in bumper to bumper traffic conditions. When the vehicle in the front moves, i release the brake slowly to make sure the vehicle gently pushes forward, when the vehicle in the front stops, i apply the brake again. But this time i was shocked to see the brake not making any difference and i then desperately tried a few more times to finally stop my car just few centimetres from the vehicle in the front. I was literally shocked for a few seconds and just wondered to my self what if my car did not stop in time. This time i let it go off my mind thinking it was just my driving problem. But then it happened with me again today.

2nd instance: I dropped my wife at her office and then came out to a service road which finally meets a signal on the junction. There was a BMTC bus in front of my car waiting for the signal to turn green to go on to the main road. I was at a safe good distance from the bus, the signal turned green and then the bus made a move towards the main road on the right. I also lifted my right foot off the brake slightly with the clutch at biting point and my vehicle starts moving. Now the bus stops suddenly due to pedestrians or vehicles coming from other direction and i apply my brakes but to my surprise they dont work. I try desperately again to brake and my left side of the car goes on to hit the right rear bumper of the bus causing my bumper to have deep dents and scratches. The whole left headlight assembly of my car has gone out of alignment and this is how bad it looks now. I feel terrible looking at my car, my heart literally cries [cry]

Now that i am really sure its not my driving, I am planning to take the car to the service center to see what is causing this, anyone else has observed the poor braking at lower rpms? Please let me know. I see this as a huge problem in city driving conditions where stop go traffic is unavoidable. I might have hardly been at speed of 10-20 kmph when these incidents happened. I read some other threads on some of the forums where users have complained braking problems with swift and i20 at low speeds or stop go traffic conditions and also while reversing.

Rickson,

I am experiencing the exact same low rpm braking issue since a week on my Grand i10 Petrol which has clocked 12500km. I am seriously concerned about this.
Do let me know if you have got it sorted out and how.

Thanks

Can Forceps/ Pliers/ Wire rods / Hooks/ Clips / Safety pin etc be used to force it back in position? better try all Indian Jugaads if you are to replace them anyways.

Yes, i was able to open the flap, using the edge of a key and fixed it in a particular position for air flow.
