Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

ashok did you geth the head unit from hong kong? if so then let me know the place so i can get one. decided against caska as i will be upgrading this car after 2 years. what all do i need to get with the head unit.
Nick , I got the system from Hitech Car Lounge... Hong Kong. The price was around 18K Inr for the HU. Features are Dvd, Mp3, 6 Virtual Disc, Navigation, Steering control, Straight wire fit, SD card, Usb stick and IPOD support. Also got support for speed based volume control and dual zone video playback. The head unit gives close to Pioneer, JBL kind of output(Though not 100%). It provides 2 aux input with video, 2 video outputs, 5 channel amplified output or 5.1 pre out. I have amplified the pre outs with pioneer amps. Also added pioneer component speakers and sub woofer to complete the package. I bought sony monitors for the video-"Though never got to enjoy the video".

Thanks for the address for the window trim. Will be in mumbai from monday to thursday.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Completed 12K on the ODO. FE is 11 in city and 18 on the highways.

Suspension is making a lot of thud noises. (Not sure if its the rain battered chenai roads or the suspension needs help).

Front centre arm reast is squeky whenever I rest my left hand while driving.
The rear parking sensors went kaput during rain. Whenever I shifted to reverse the sensors were detecting obstacles though there was nothing for atleast 15 feet. Strangely the problem got resolved once the rains stopped.

All the door handles have gone rough to open. Maybe because she was left in the rain for 5 days in pondicherry(No covered parking in the hotel or customer office):frown:

Gear shift from 1st to second is a little notchy. Finally you need to be really a man of steel to take corners beyond 100kmph headon with no co passengers.

Think need to take her to the workshop to settle these issues. I am going to really dig deep into what hyundai is doing about the suspension problems. Since i supply tools I hope they dont lie.

ashok keep me updated on the suspension issue i get the thud noises and at lower speeds getting squeaks i guess it has to do with some bushing but these guys say all is fine we torqued it again to 160. and more annoying is my fe 10kmpl which is mostly highways and they say its normal but before that they say 14-15 is expected asked them to check the sensors they say its fine i asked them to reflash the eprom or reset it and they say only the santros and accent can be flashed.

would be great if you can give me the adress of hitech car lounge as i will be in hong kong for 4 days and then to shenzhen and macau

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Hi Nick, I am considering of re-booking a verna coz I still like it. I had booked it first solely going on the looks (more of an impulse decision) . After a few weeks I heard complaints of a soft suspension and the chances of the chassis touching the rear wheel on bad roads once the car is fully loaded with 5 people sitting in the car and some luggage weighing 20 kg. (It has nothing to do with the GC but the gap between the rear fender and the tyre is very small so once when weight piles up it may touch the wheel. Is it true?Only owners will be able to comment on that.
I won't be touching more than 120k every now and then so how would you rate the handling. Most importantly are you comfortable on the rear seats on long rides?

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

well my rear seats as per me n my dad n bro are comfy i feel like sleeping in there. but i havent travelled in it for mroe then 5 minutes. my mum complains that its to bouncy and it hits when going through potholes or breakers. MY mum has back issues. handling is sufficient at 110kmph though at curves your reflexes sense something and your right leg is of the gas and on the brakes. to put it in a good way you feel as if the body is either tilting or swaying and you need to steer abit. but thats only at high speeds the car fares well on straight roads which are leveled ro it gets bouncy. Im waiting to see what hyundai does if they do not resolve it in a few months im going the after market suspension way.
my handling and steering grip has increased after i changed my tires.
i love the car the only thing which upsets me is high speed handling but i get around it.

anyways heres a new video fo my ice. love this kind of music in the mronings and while in traffic makes me feel calm. if you guys are wondering what genre is this, well its psybient/psychill/ ambient downtempo trance

Found it! Its below the left door lock hook, printed on a black plate. More visible because of black on white.

I too listen to same kind of music, ambient/soul/chillout. My favorite albums are Conjure One (2002) & Bliss - Quiet Letters (2005).

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

khe khe khe if you want more just tell me i have tonnes of it

@neil i had gone to my guy for some bulbs for my other car. and there was a verna geting hooked upto a jbl 1200 watt sub he was literally grinning i asked him to play this same song on his car and it failed miserably wasnt able to keep up to the changes in notes but there were new sound sroces in his car the rear parcel tray, sunglass holder, the rear view mirror and door panels. the installer asked him to check my system and then he asked me how much i spent. And he was like im happy with my stock speakers. so i guess for my type of music a sub is a spoiler if i listened to hip hop then sub is good.
yeah the arcs camera is good can see every strand of ugly hair on my hand. Just missing a few or else id qualify as a bear

Hey Nick. When did ya change the tyres. Which ones have you fitted and did ya upsize. How many kms done and what's your feedback on the tyres and the drive so far after the change ?
