Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

i changed the tyres after i got the car home. drove a bit on the stock tyres which are quiet. i added in yokohoma a-drive r1 205/50/16 got good buy back on 5 tires. these tires are a bit noisy not irritating, wheel spins take more revs to accomplish or else you will be catapulted, braking has improved tried jamming my brakes at 100 and had no skids may be cause of abs cornering and steering feedback has improved and driving on wet roads is no nightmare any more as it doesnt aquaplane i have added the thread pattern images earlier do check between pages 7-16

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

@neil i had gone to my guy for some bulbs for my other car. and there was a verna geting hooked upto a jbl 1200 watt sub he was literally grinning i asked him to play this same song on his car and it failed miserably wasnt able to keep up to the changes in notes but there were new sound sroces in his car the rear parcel tray, sunglass holder, the rear view mirror and door panels. the installer asked him to check my system and then he asked me how much i spent. And he was like im happy with my stock speakers. so i guess for my type of music a sub is a spoiler if i listened to hip hop then sub is good.
yeah the arcs camera is good can see every strand of ugly hair on my hand. Just missing a few or else id qualify as a bear
doors and rear view mirror [:D] .. they never vibrates in my car.
i fixed other two sounds , and now they are not significantly audible.

if his setup wasnt able to keep up with notes either he has not choosen good match of amp and speakers or he has not tuned his amp setting properly. thats big fail while playing music notes goes up and down along with bass.

for your song type , either very small sub or no sub if you dont play speakers at high volume. and i dont think this type of songs have low bass notes.
btw that asterix song has lot of bass. i loved it.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Nick. I was just today scouting for some tyres. Narrowed down to 205/55/16 yokohamas s drive. Or the Maxxis Z1 Victra. Read some good reviews on the s drives but have been using maxxis z1 victra on my Honda City for past 50k kms and good for another 20k kms. Had great experience with the Maxxis on wet and dry and great looks too. Good solid feel and not easy to punter. Any inputs.
Does this link carry any weight. Maxxis Tyres

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

i really have no knowledge on maxxis tires. i had a choice between s drive at first but then i saw these adrive r1s and went in for it chiefly cause the dealer said these a drives r1's have longer thread life and also has more thickness other reason being its easy to spot s drives on swifts and esteems and the mid thread pattern looks like flames
heres my thread design

and heres s drive

Looks pretty cool. Was checking the website. Can't seem to find the size 205/55/16 on the A Drive R1 which would be the logical upsize to the stock 195/55/16 which the diesel sxo auto comes with. Where did ya get it in vashi and what price. Had visited the arenja corner sanghi tyres but he was out of stock of these yokos.

i went in for 50 profile as i thought it may touch the body while going through bumps, nevertheless theres a few with 55 and they are happy. There is a yokohama dealer there just before the circle a guy named naresh is good to deal with. i had a brochure book which has all of yokos tires and sizes seen it somewhere in my room cant see it anywhere now iirc 205/50/16 has a reinforced radial while the 205/55/16 is normal had seen it in the brochure. the yokohama go down is somewhere after vikhroli
paid 6853 per tire
p.s/ naresh is easy to fool before i got the car i went to check pricing and buy back. buy back he had said 3k per tire and when i went to change my tires he forgot how much he said for buyback and asked me i said 4k and he gladly gave that

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

ashok keep me updated on the suspension issue i get the thud noises and at lower speeds getting squeaks i guess it has to do with some bushing but these guys say all is fine we torqued it again to 160. and more annoying is my fe 10kmpl which is mostly highways and they say its normal but before that they say 14-15 is expected asked them to check the sensors they say its fine i asked them to reflash the eprom or reset it and they say only the santros and accent can be flashed.

would be great if you can give me the adress of hitech car lounge as i will be in hong kong for 4 days and then to shenzhen and macau
Nick, Tried searching the bill to get the exact address, could not trace. But I clearly remember the area. Its called Fanling(You have to get near Fanling highway Minyo intersection). Will reply with full address once i get hold of the bill.

Nick, Spoke yesterday evening to two of my friends who have the 1.6 sxo petrol. Also spoke to a friend in the hyundai re-engineering department at the factory. Both my friends have said that the FE of the 1.6 petrol is around 9 to 10 Kmpl in the city. They have also confirmed that it even drops to 8 in severe traffic conditions. They have calculated the averages by the conventional tank full to tank full method and not the MID. However they also confirmed that the MID was just .5 KMpl more or less with respect to the actual FE.

My friend from the re-engineering department is responsible for any changes that are required due to quality defects after the launch of a new car. He has confirmed that the FE of the 1.6 petrol is around 9(avg) in city conditions. He says nothing can be done (he actually blames the city traffic). However if the mileage is low in highways (he says expect atleast 15kmpl on highways) there may be a problem in the fuel injection system(He rules out any problems in the ECU or the MID. Hyundai is also defenitely working on a new rear suspension and steering servo system. However free replacement for the existing owners is a big question[confused]
