Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

I sold out the original 4 tyres for a good price and purchased Michelin tyres

Size: 205 / 55 R16
Brand: Michelin
Model: Primacy LC
Costs : Rs.8300 /- per Tyre
Total cost with offer : Rs.32000/-

Check the info here

You can go for either Continental or Michelin or Yokohama but Continental and Michelin are performance tyres. Its your choice!
And How much did you get for stock rubbers? JFI.[;)]

235 man thats going to stick out and 17 inch will touch the suspensions and 45 profile combined with 17 inch radius will hamper ride quality. check the front u can see the suspension very near to the tire
even with 50 profile i find no issues in ride quaity it just gets bouncy on unleveled bad roads at high speeds with me and a co passenger. Im going to have the service centre tighten my suspension a bit as it makes noise when going through bad potholes at any speed.

Hello friends! whether sx variant not sx(o), has remote boot and fuel opener? I see in features they had mentioned but I didn't got the remote for boot opening! [confused]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

1st you need 16inchers more then that will void suspension warranty. if you wish change the tires if you want to upsize then 205/50 is perfect
2nd yeah i know the stock horn is bad. try changing the location of the horn and see if it improves if not check to see if the horn is fine
3rd i read somewhere there are 2 preouts at the back of the system. if you want gps-dvd-rear view cam and touchscreen then get a caska and replace the company system.
4th. im not sure of this but i read in a forum somewhere it interfered make sure of this and that it wont affect warranty. Try and get projectors so that the safety of other drivers are kept in case you go in for hids
5th addressed in 3rd point a standalone sat nav will be fixed on ur dash or windscreen i dnt know how its connected nor the maps gurus here can help you in that though
6th are these recorded audio cds or mp3? or original ones? try with different cds if it repeats show it to hyundai

please do upload pics of your car and your experience
@Nick: Sorry for late addition But as per my calculation i think changing tyres from 195/55/R16 to 205/50/R16 will decrease ground clearance by 9.5 mm. And This reduction is marginal because of our award winning Indian roads. I guess, you won't feel this because Gujarat is blessed with good roads.[thumbsup]

On the positive side, lower ground clearance cars are better performer at high speed so behavior of verna after upgrading to 205/50/R16 should be on positive other than frequent kisses to the underbelly.

I think my calculation is right. [sleep]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

well mumbai has nasty speed breakers and i havent kissed any speed breakers/ car breakers/ back breakers yet.lol. i would have gone for 55 but was scared of the tyres touching the body when loaded as you know verna has a soft suspension.
bensam has got 55 and has no issues only difference is i have a sporty tire which has a bit of road noise and he has a comfort oriented tire both perform way better then the stock bridgestone.
i have added pictures a few pages back

@fluidiceverywhere: your calculation may be right but for our Indian roads we need more ground clearance. That's why I stick with 205 / 55 and in Michelin Primacy LC they don't have 205 / 50 profile I don't know why! they have only these two options for verna 205 / 55 R16 or 215 / 55 R16

Well looks good enough then to switch to your size. Here in bangalore some speed breakers are award winning and even truckers cann't dare to cross them. [frustration]
LOL.[cheers]

Just of curiosity, bensam : I feel your rubbers might be touching the metals when your car is fully loaded. Give some info so that other's will get a rough idea about 205/55/R16 in verna. [confused]

One thing is for sure that if you are upgrading the profile of tyre then you need to compromise between GC and kissing of tyre & metals. Correct me if i am wrong.

Well, I did some general calculation with car weight, width and height and I felt 55 is the right one for R16 but anyhow lower ground clearance will bring more road grip and the riding will be more stability.

Recently I had done a trip with my family fully loaded to extreme south India and I faced big size speed breakers but not a inch was scratched the body and I felt I'm safe now [thumbsup] becoz I always used to go to the extreme south india like Kanyakumari and Kerala.

205 / 50 is really a good profile with somehow lower ground clearance and no complaints against with that profile too! My bad I don't get that profile in Michelin!!!
