re: My Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.4L

Hey sr,
Please write a detailed review of your ownership. a single photo will not do justice to this beauty. Your car is 1.4 which is the only one on this forum. So if you put detailed report on this it will be great help for those who are looking for affordable sedan. It will be great help if you compare it with newly launched dezire, etios.

Hi srfluidic,

A very warm Welcome to The Automotive India. Please share more about your car with some more pics. As far as i recollect, yours is the first 1.4L Verna onboard, which further raises the curiosity of knowing the engine behavior.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

This is my first post on TAI. I am confused between Honda City 2012 (VMT) vs Hyundai Verna SX model (Petrol).

I have read umpteen number of reviews for both, just wanted to check with the owners if any one can help me making the decision?

While Verna has got the looks, Honda City has got the brand value. While Verna has some unparalleled cool features, City is a bit long by around 7cm (as per comparison from the manuals)

I have heard about suspension issues with Verna too. Any news of them getting resolved?

I would appreciate thoughts from the experienced members here.

Thank You!

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Hello Ankur, Welcome to TAI!

It is pretty tough to choose between Verna and the City. They both have their own set of positives and negatives. It all depends upon which qualities you care about.

I own a Verna VTVT SX and I have absolutely no regrets. I had to choose between Verna and City and I listened to my heart and not to my head - in the end I am happy. [:)]

For a comparison:

Exterior: My personal opinion - Verna looks stunning. City is not bad either.
Interior: Verna is way ahead of city
Seating comfort: Front - Equal comfort. Rear - City wins
Engine: ivtec - proven good. VTVT - yet to prove good
Ride & Handling: My opinion - Verna is nowhere bad as projected in most reviews - unless you drive at above 140 kmph most of the time. For that matter City is not a good handler either.
VFM - Definetely Verna.
Safety - Since you are opting for SX there is nothing much between the two. Verna with front and back discs hold an upper hand.
Mileage - More or less equal.

On a lighter note - I can show off to people who own City that I can close my car's side mirrors without sticking my hand out / or answer calls with a press of a button on my steering / or engage reverse gear and do not turn and see through the rear windshield / or just set the temp on the auto climate control and do not worry about increasing or decreasing the fan speed. [lol]

Jokes apart I personally liked the soft nature of Verna and opted for it. Test drive both the cars and take a call. At the end of the day you need to be satisfied with the 10L that you spend [:)]

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Hello to all Members. I am planning to buy a new diesel sedan and have shortlisted Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Fiat Linea 2012 and the VW Vento. I am almost pleased with the new Verna but little bit afraid of the soft suspension . Yesterday took the test drive of the Skoda Rapid, and was totally amazed by the high speed handling. But the looks of the car let me down. Mean while searching for some update in the new Hyundai Verna, I came to this article (Hyundai Verna Fluidic 2012 With Better Suspension Launch Expected In India) and I guess if this new is correct than I will definitively wait for the suspension upgrade. But hope this happens soon. {Sorry if I posted in wrong format}.:sorry:

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Hello, Ritesh, Welcome to TAI.

So, You dont like RAPID's looks (Why?), but no matter, Its your choice. Dont go for vento, It is overpriced IMHO. Consider the Hyundai Verna and Fiat Linea. Looks of both cars are worth appreciation. No idea about performance! (Ask Verna owners and Linea owner's), Have not driven it yet!
Just the Linea lacks in A.S.S., i.e. it will not give you a better resale value as Verna.
If you are buying the car now (Without wait for new launch of Verna) and plan to keep it for more than 5 years, Then FIAT LINEA is the one for you. Otherwise, Wait for the New Verna Launch and then get it!
Cheers.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Every little news about suspension upgrade delights us but after some time the mind become suspecious that does it really going to happen? I pray it must be true and all verna users should be benefitted.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

The picture are of hatch back version of the verna which is not intended for indian market. Anyway instead of introducing 2012 maodel, hyundai should offer upgrade to suspension to all the current verna owners. That will benefit to company too.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna Road Test Review

Our model is Hyundai Verna 2012.
The sonata type looking verna was actually the First new verna that was supposed to come but they launched different model IMO better looking which we have.

About suspension upgrade , i think it's just rumour. and they have written they will give stiffer suspension in new model after diesel car price hike.. nowhere mentioned that we will get TSB for our car.
