Update - First service

Service interval - 1200 to 1500 kms or 2 months.
Odo reading before service - 1473 kms
Current odo reading - 1488 kms

Complaints reported:
1) Left wiper shudders at times
2) Had a small scratch near the headlight. Asked to retouch.

Work Done:
1) Checked the wiper and changed the blade.
2) A temp paint work. A closeup view can make out the difference. But better than the black scratch.
3) Fluid top up. He even showed me around the various fluid locations (first experience for me. Nobody else showed me this before)
4) Cleaned the engine bay and not washed.

Overall a good experience with the dealer. Cant comment on any difference on the car. Might have to wait for the oil change to comment on that.

Next Service - 9000 to 10000 kms or 1 year

Some parting shots

^^ Nice to hear the good service experience! Not very common these days. I might say, Hyundai puts a lot of effort to improve this area. My second service was much better and far more easier too! Home pickup & delivery, better communication and transparent billing!!!

Update: Weekend Drive

DSC_0173.jpg

DSC_0174.jpg

Just completed a 365 km round trip over the weekend. Majority of the drive was through 2 lane highway. The car performed really well and I should say the 6th gear which I have been wanting is a boon.Close to triple digit speed and the rpm is at 2k. Makes the ride really comfortable and less noisy. Filled up to the brim and it used around 25% of the tank.

Pros:
1) Really loved how it performed on the highway. This was my proper highway outing (a more perfect highway drive would be Bangalore drive which I will report after Christmas) and the car was super stable at high speeds. Definitely, the best from hyundai.
2) 6th gear. Think I dont need to comment anymore.
3) Tires are much better than the crappy MRF's that came in the ecosport. Good grip, less road noise and even looks better.
4) Perfect size for the cramped Kerala highways. Was able to maneuver easily.
5) Although not a decision making feature, I feel the ability to switch off the AVN was a nice touch. Wife used to complain about the ecosport's MID light disturbing her sleep. Here in the creta, the display can be switched off. A nifty feature for me atleast.

Cons:
1) Black seats not comfortable on a hot day.
2) Seats bolstering should have been better.
3) Missing the Ford AC unit. This did a good job too.
4) Wife was pretty comfortable during the entire trip. But it has to pass the "Wife Sleep Test". Usually she sleeps 95% of the time during our Bangalore run. So waiting for my next Bangalore drive to test this. But so far so good.

Odometer now stands at 2146 kms.

hi navven,
Congrats for the new creta. And I must say what a lovely pic, especially the beach one with the blue back ground. I went and checked creta today and I have to say I was disappointed with it. The interior plastics were nowhere near a car of such high price and some plastics looks cheap.i don't know how much it can hold with time. Compared to that, ecosports plastics though rough seems to last well and have a better solidity. Especially the steering wheel I like my ecosports steering layout better than creta. You know better than me as you owned an ecosport and now a creta. I still don't understand why you traded your ecosport for a creta. Well its your personal choice. But with such a premium price you could have gone for a segment higher vehicle. I don't know. All say creta is bigger than ecosport. lengthwise yes its 30cm longer than eco, 15mm wider and and is shorter than eco cabin width more or less same or slightly more wont make much difference width wise. Ecosport has more commanding view from driver seat. I felt boot is bigger in volume paer wise, but not much in real. ES has 60;40 split plus reclinable travel which can make the seat at 90 degree angle increasing its capacity. And finally it weighs same as eco even after being 1 feet longer than ES means that means ecosport has more solid built than creta with the use of high strength barium steel in ecosport. Coming to the power, its just 60nm more torquey than ES. In real world ES performance is not so weak either with a great steering feedback. Over all I don't think its worth the additional premium you paid for this car trading ES. Any way no offense dear friend, its just my personal view. Have a good time with creta

No issues buddy. Everyone got their own views on the car. Well, I am one person who dont take the public opinion. All my car purchases happen suddenly, say in a week. The only person I ask the opinion is my wife. If she is happy, we go ahead with it.

Coming to the vehicle, yes it's a premium price to pay and I agree it's a bit expensive. Well, you asked me to go for a segment above which is the XUV. Personally speaking, it's got the butch feel, space, goodies and power - but quality? seriously? I even checked out the car yesterday when we went to see the TUV. It simply doesnt give that 17-18L feel, well the exterior, power and goodies does, but quality simply doesnt.

And as I pointed out in my review, the rear seats are not used in mine. Say 98-99% of the time it's empty and we didnt even bother to sit in the rear seat during the test drive.

Of course, ecosport and creta got it's pros and cons. But in the end, I just went for something that I felt better.

Thanks for pointing your suggestions dude.

Low fuel Warning display:

Many posts here saying that low fuel warning is not available in the Creta. Although the manual state it's available, many members couldnt find this.

Here's from my SX(O). There's also an animated screen that comes up. Also, I remember few saying that once this light is shown, the trip computer changes to DTE. That's not the case. It remains the same.

IMG_20150926_155444.jpg

Kms clocked during the last top up - 789kms (25% highway, 75% city). Refueled as soon as the low fuel warning light was lit.

Current odometer reading - 2528 kms.

Naveen, great review. And, beautiful pics. Some of the pics, I guess, Hyundai might want to use in their hoardings!

Great detail, you have covered all. Any new Creta buyer like me would not want to repeat the same.[:)]

Yes friends, we too purchased the SX(O) and took delivery 10 days ago. Its a really nice car. Loving it.

There is one point I remember you mentioned about the Shark-fin antenna looking "after market". I have read couple of similar opinion. I thought it kind of blends well, though the curves could have be a little defined (probably thats the reason why you felt it after market). Moreover, perspective change when you see a Hyundai vehicle moving to a shark-fin from the Bee-sting one.

We own a BMW X1 and I have just did a picture comparison on the both the shark-fin antennas.
Sharkfin Antenna-Comparison.jpg

Will post few pictures of both "Indie" (Creta) and "Blue Knight" (BMW X1) in the following posts.

While I don't want to compare the X1 to Creta, I remember a member in one of the forums indicated the rear of Creta resembles Q3. Yes, the fall on the rear even resembles the X1 as well, quite seen from this pic.

Couple of shot from the rear and front

Indie looks more muscular than the Blue Knight.[:D] Good Stance.

And last, our Indie.

Accessory Update: Rubber pads for the cubby holes

I had bought these for the ecosport and was impressed with it. Can now easily throw away those keys and coins without having to hear the rattles.

16 pieces in total and two pads dont fit properly (one is small while the other is big - Maybe this is for the ix25 and not for the Indian model). Also, have two extra pads for the bottle holders.

Cost - 500 or 550/- (almost took 2 months to deliver so forgot the price I paid)

DSC_0012.jpg

A bit too small

See the extreme right. You can see it glow a bit. Yes, these are the "glow in the dark" pads
