Not sure on the 1.4 as I havent driven it. 1.6 is very refined and never felt it lacking power. I would suggest you to test drive both 1.4 and 1.6 before deciding.

Yes, cosmetic upgrades can be added anytime (projectors, alloys, headunit etc)

Is it possible to get electrically adjustable ORVM...as it comes with mannual ones...and if yes what would be the approx cost.
It's possible to install it. It's close to 2k. But this is for the auto fold option when you lock/unlock the car (which is not present in the creta). Do check whether this will work for manual mirrors.

See details here:

Has anyone tried integrating the buzzer (sound that gets triggered on locking/unlocking the doors via remote) in the central locking device that comes fitted with Creta. I guess the stock one doesn't have any buzzer integrated. I am thinking of getting one. Any directions on this will be greatly appreciated.

The stock creta comes with this buzzer. It's a small beep when you lock/unlock the car. There's a long beep when you step out of the car with the key when the engine is on.

Service Update - 20k kms

Here's some updates after quite some time. As I have an outstation drive later this month, decided to get the 20k service done. Here are some of the problems reported.

1) Wiper judder - this was report each time and they failed to rectify it. They tightened the wiper arm and cleaned the wiper rubber. Didnt test it. Hopefully it's done correctly this time else I shall change the wiper blades. To my surprise, am still running on stock wipers and does a clean job.

2) AVN update - They have updated to the next version. Not sure whether it's the latest version. These guys are pretty clueless when it comes to the AVN.

3) Fuel lid - Had difficulty in opening the fuel lid. At times, it refuses to open. They removed and cleaned the hinge.

4) Avoid wheel alignment/balancing and car wash - I always get this done at my regular place for this. But this time I just got the wash done (not a fan of service center washing. They tend to do it for a namesake) since I didnt have time to go elsewhere for the wash. Will get the alignment/balancing done in couple of weeks.

Details of the service bill:

1) Engine Oil - 5.3L x 258.5 = 1370
2) Brake Oil - 0.3L x 305.7 = 91.7
3) Air Filter - 441.9
4) Filter Cartridge - 1790.2
5) Cabin Filter - 301.4
6) Oil Filter - 400.1
7) Gasket Oil plug - 33.6
8) Grease Caliper Guide rod (brakes) - 163.9

Total Bill - 5440.79 including tax

After the service:

Like always, it's so good to drive the car after an oil change. The brakes also feels better now but still feels rubbery but something better than before. The wash was pretty satisfactory and the guy in-charge of the wash was there to get my feedback. The exterior was done well but the interiors had this "done in a hurry" look.

Odo reading - 18,400+ kms

Build quality is top notch. Wont have any issues like the city. The nvh levels are also good but I found it better in the ecosport. Hyundai use thin glass all around. Maybe because of that. But the engine is well refined (even the diesel) so there's less intrusion of the engine noise to the cabin.

Weekend Drive:

DSC_0128.jpg

It was a long drive over the long weekend for us - 655 km to be specific. The onward journey took us through busy city roads, 4 and 2 lane highway, ghat roads with almost zero visibility. The return drive was even more fun with 2 different ghat sections to cover along with 2 lane state and national highways. All this with temperatures between 12 and 30 degrees.

Cars taking a breather to tackle the journey ahead (see the images following this [:)])

This was what we had planned

I loved your ownership review. [:)]

I also booked the Hyundai Creta Petrol AT (2017 Make) and the car will be delivered within 2-3 days. During the PDI I noticed that spare wheel is a non-allow 215/60 Bridgestone 17" tyre. So I asked the sales person about the spare wheel and he told me that I will get the non-alloy wheel. He also told me that even the Optional and Diesel Automatic comes with non-allow spare wheel. I also called Hyundai India toll free number and they told me the same thing. But in this ownership review you mentioned that your spare wheel is a fully size alloy wheel. I'm pretty confused now!

Congrats on your booking. When I bought the car, only SX(O) had alloys for the spare tyre. Maybe they discontinued giving alloy as spare across all variants.

Thank you.[:)] You're right. I'm not 100% sure about the Optional but both Diesel Automatic and Petrol Automatic doesn't come with the diamond cut alloy spare anymore. In the mid 2016, Hyundai was offering diamond cut alloy spare with the Diesel and Petrol AT. I've attached the pic of my spare. They are not even offering the wheel cap. [frustration]
