Eon Era (with AC- PS) is 3.61 L on road in pune
In 3.61 lakh we can get new Alto k10 Vxi special edition with 10 extra features.
Or one can get spark, Wagan R, Estilo , Astar , Santro base models which are 1000 cc engine
Then why any one will choose Eon ?

IMO Eon is slightly overpriced - Remember entry level market is very very price sensitive.
Maruti will surely not ignore its sales but it will wait for some time to take some firm action.

Good move from Hyundai.

Bread and Butter i10 is under direct attack from Honda Brio.

So go and attack Alto.

There seems to be a little doubt on pricing but could have decided to attract (at least some) Brio and i10 customers as well - a reasonable counter strategey for Brio

Re: Hyundai’s New Small Car Eon (Codename: HA)

It is going to kill the Alto, IMHO.
[;)] chill buddy, nobody is going to kill anybody: they will live together.[:)]

Did Alto killed M800: no infact, its MSIL who gradually phased out M800 because it could not meet the standards (not the engine but some safety issue related to structure IIRC).

So IMHO there would still be a good amount of customer left for Alto simply because they can not afford Eon. FE figures of Eon is also not very different from Alto. Eon is better car than Alto in all respect- no second opinion about that. But Alto will continue to live due to the price difference.

Hyundai is being benefitted to an extent from the on-going strike at Maruti Suzuki. But now the word is that, Hyundai might be soon removing the introductory price tag of Eon and raise it up to around Rs.20,000 in the forthcoming months. News courtesy: Indiancarsbikes.

What ? It is already overpriced IMO. It will sell like spark then may be 2k units / month.
Yes. Hyundai will take this decision only when the satisfactory amount of Eons has been sold. After the price increase (if goes upto Rs.20,000) Eon will then cost almost close to Xing, Spark, Estilo and likes. Eventually Hyundai might discontinue Santro Xing. Who knows?
