Noticed this thread just now (How did I miss it??[frustration])

My list:-
Rajdoot 175 - Dad owned it and I cleaned its carbs and silencers at home with him (my pre-drivers licence era)!
RD 350 - Dad's bike. Learned to drive bikes on that....the class of bikes have been downhill ever since!
RX100 - My first bike, bought from my salary!
Yezdi Roadking
Bullet 350 Std (Black, CI engine)
TVS Fiero
TVS Victor
TVS Fiero II
Pulsar 180 UG3 ... This is my present ride.
All my bikes were bought new...no pre owned bikes.
Next, gravitating towards Honda CBR250R or RE 500 Classic, perhaps!
That's an impressive list, i guess you should start thinking more of buying an RE classic [:D]

Hmm, Sridhar nice list and those three attracts me more RX,Yezdi,Bullet, I always feel none of the today's bikes give you that experience
Couldn't agree more on those three classics, RK. But, don't forget the RD350. It was a bike in its own league...I can still hear the typical jingling noise that it used to produce!!

I agree with you on that, but to be frank I never had any direct experience with that, hence I cannot comment much on that[:)]

RD 350 was by far the most sportiest bike of that era, and it still commands a huge premium in the used market. only if it had a better brakes[:)]

An absolute gem! Wish my dad hadn't sold it then! [frustration]
Yes, brakes were very "ordinary" for that kind of power. And India had still not seen disc brakes then! But I remember, a bike called Fury was launched in India with disc brakes. Lot of people had many skids on that because the brakes were reportedly too sensitive, and the bike finally bowed out of the Indian market! Here was a case where technology was available but we were not ready then to make use of it. I would give anything to own an RD 350 with rear and front discs today!!

Just landed on this thread:

List of bikes we had in our family,

Rajdoot - 1996 - 2004 [Dad's favourite and I enjoy just sitting on the tank - This is our family ride. Dad's company owned and maintained this bike]

Sunny - 1998 - 2002 [During my 6th class and this is my [nah Mom's first ride] first ride.]

Royal Enfield - 2004 - Till date [Classic bike and a pride possession of my dad, this is when I was bit by bullet bug. Dad was always against it considering my riding and caring style]

Yamaha Rx100 - 2002 - 2004 [Mom's gift and my first ride. This bought a huge smile whenever I rev it.]

Yamaha Libero G5 - 2005 - 2008 [Dad's decision - He said I am not mature enough to handle the power and I may be dangerous to me and others on road]

Yamaha Fz - 2008 - 2009 [Gifted by Grand Dad and planning to have it knocked down and preserve it forever]

RE Thunderbird - 2010 - till date [My birdie, I call her fondly. She is hot, sexy and worth every penny I spent on.]

God Bless! ,
Cheers!

I have the RE THUNDERBIRD TBTS [not the current model on sale]. I paid 1,16,000 and some change.

I was not very keen about the fuel economy however some of the riders reported FE range of 35-40 KMPL [Stock UCE Engine].

Maintenance is little on the higher side but manageable. You can not rely on electrical parts which may give up at any time [Worst part is you never knew the condition of it until you struck with a problem] but the mechanical bits are good when taken proper care. On Wednesday I had to spend 4.2k to replace the ignition coil, TPI Switch. Spares are expensive when compared with regular bikes.

You tend to forget all the cost involved as soon as you fire your machine, Made like a Gun and it goes like a rocket!

God Bless! ,
Cheers!

Yamaha FZS yellow black color, nice bike for city driving, underpowered for highway. For 3 years only done 8800 km, do not have much time for driving it. I drove it quite a lot in Kullu valley, it doing good in narrow mountains broken roads, rope bridges no problem too. Maximum speed done 94kmh. Adequate brakes.

Only problem experienced was air locks in carburetor, cleaned it twice.
