Re: What Car Care Products Do You Use?

I have a confusion, please share your views. which cloth to use for drying car, microfiber or chamois (like this http://www.ebay.in/itm/190806754736?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)? again I understood that wax can be applied by applicator pad coming with the wax itself like in Formula 1. but after applying, which cloth is best for removing the wax/buffing? microfiber or chamois or anything else? also after applying wax like formula 1 carnauba wax, how much time i should keep it on the car body before starting to remove it? thanks.

for drying use chamois cloth. if you buy it please update it here how this particular brand works.

you can either use microfibre or a normal cotton cloth. if you can get your hands on a cheap microfibre use it. because after using microfibre to rub off the wax , it'll have a lot of residue left. so it may damage the microfibre.

i use normal cloth.

just let it dry for 3-5 minutes. that should be sufficient.

Use a microfiber cloth. I use the same and it works well.

Do this – Start applying the wax on car’s front and move to the rear. Once completed, go back to the front and begin removing. This allows it adequate time to dry.

HI All,

Is anybody using any orbital polishers??
Need one for my XUV.

Kinshuk
I use a Kestrel DA orbital polisher, which I got from UK. You have to get the proper foam pads also, depending on whether you are using a cutting compound, a polish or wax. These pads are expensive in India, and if you have someone in US, you can try to get these pads from online stores like autogeekonline or amazon.com Most of these polishers come with 5.5" and 6.5" backing plates with Velcro and you can fix a pad to this.

Meguiars sell their DA polisher in India through some online stores, it costs over 14K. You can also enquire with 3M car care centres, as Meguiars is part of 3M now. Before you start using an orbital polisher, it will be good to watch how to use it, videos are there in sites like youtube. Sites like autogekonline also have videos and a lot of information on different kinds of foam pads.
Hope this helps

Nice efforts. You can also consider polishing the plastic parts to make the car in ‘straight out of the showroom’ condition.

Can someone tell me quickly how to remove holi colors from car. I am standing next to car.
First try by using a car shampoo and see if it helps... if not then you probabily might have to use some polish.... as polish has little bit of abrassive properties it will definitely reemove the colours .... after applying polish do not forget to apply a good quality wax.

Do post pictures before and after pictures if you happen to do the above process as it might help others.

I do not have any polish as of now. tried normal wash and wax by F1. Didn't work.
I may have to take it to workshop I guess.

You should not have waxed it .... wax is basically applying a protective layer ove the paint ... so basically you applied a protective layer over the Holi Colours which were on the paint..

Had you applied wax just before Holi it would have helped as I did the same i.e applied wax on the morning of holi and all the colours easily came off as the colours were on top of wax and not the paint.
