You will basically have to ged rid of the wax if you have applied Formula 1 or similar type of Wax then it is relatively easy to get it off. take Vim liquid and mix it with water the way you shampoo your car and then wash your car. Vim Liquid will basically strip all your wax because it has properties which disintegrates oil or wax. then wash your car again with a car shampoo to remove any strains of Vim Liquid on your car as you don't want Vim strains on your car.

Go to a car accessories shop and ask for a polish they should be able to give you one and try applying it all over the car to remove the holi strains. After the strains have been removed apply wax.

Hello friends,

I have recently bought a used Honda City i-Vtec 2009 VMT. I believe the first owner has not used wax, polish or any car care products. Just washed using water and shampoo. Anyhow car paint is not bad. It is just fine except minor scratches.

I have used com-paint products two - three times since from I bought the car (nearly a month now). First cleaned the car, used AEROSHOT Car Shampoo, then after drying, applied Com-Cut on minor scratches, then used AEROSHOT Liquid Car Polish and wiped off using clean cloth. Also used AEROSHOT Auto Glass Cleaner.

Now the car is somewhat looks new and shines well.

I have came across Meguiar's products and need advice from expertise here. On whether I should buy those Meguiar's products or continue using com-paint products? I'm already familiar with com-paint products since I'm using them from more then 3 years on my previous car.

If I wanted to buy those Meguiar's products, which I one I should be going for, since there are many different types. Below are shorted listed items which I have confused with.

1. Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 - I used to use Com-Cut which gave good results and will this result better?
2. Meguiar's Ultimate Polish - Is this necessary to use?
3. Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax or Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax Paste 2.0 or Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Liquid wax - which one of these are preferred more? There are more as well, please suggest if any.
4. Meguiar's Quick Detailer - Is this necessary to use? if so at what times?
5. Meguiar's NXT Gen Car Wash - Is this better then AEROSHOT Car Shampoo?

Sorry but I'm new to these all and don't want end up buying unnecessary and expensive products or harm my car paint. I'm depending on your advice.

p.s I have not given the car for car washing yet. Someone suggested 3m car wash but I don't know how much it costs and how good they clean (trust!).

Thanks...
Best Regards

1. Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 - I used to use Com-Cut which gave good results and will this result better?
recommended since it is a highly trusted product and won't harm your paint.
2. Meguiar's Ultimate Polish - Is this necessary to use?
Again highly trusted but is a real PITA to apply by hand.I have used it and will only suggest this if you have a DA polisher.
3. Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax or Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax Paste 2.0 or Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Liquid wax
Get NXT tech wax for long lasting protection or you can also get collinite 845.

4. Meguiar's Quick Detailer - Is this necessary to use? if so at what times?
This is to be used in between proper waxing sessions more like an everyday cleaner.I would suggest ONR wash and wax as will it be cheaper.

5. Meguiar's NXT Gen Car Wash - Is this better then AEROSHOT Car Shampoo?
Again highly trusted but IMO all car shampoos do an OK job without much difference.Get any among the better ones.

Also how are com paint products as they seem really VFM.I have used their paint pen kit and find it excellent.

Thanks for your good response. :)

Ok.

Nope, I don't have DA polisher or any polishing machine. There are minor scratches and swirl marks here and there. ScratchX can fix it or Ultimate Polish is better to use instead? I also heard about Ultimate Compound but it seems a aggressive product that needs care.

Get NXT tech wax for long lasting protection or you can also get collinite 845.
Alright.

This is to be used in between proper waxing sessions more like an everyday cleaner.I would suggest ONR wash and wax as will it be cheaper.
Ok thanks. I will check it out

Edit: Hmm ONR wash & wax costs 695rs for 236.6 ml on bringingbest and Meguiar's Quick Detailer costs 321rs for 473ml on autofresh. So Quick Detailer would be a better buy.

Again highly trusted but IMO all car shampoos do an OK job without much difference.Get any among the better ones.
ONR wash and wax also contains shampoo or should use shampoos separately?

Also how are com paint products as they seem really VFM.I have used their paint pen kit and find it excellent.
They are good and trustful. Better then going with fakes around the market. Cheaper as well. I couldn't buy
paint pen kit because it wasn't available for my car color (Polished Metallic) so I want with value pack kit to fix some of light scrapes in the bumpers but unfortunately it wasn't a easy task. Use of spray paint is very difficult and only experts can do it. Yet I tried on few spots and it was good but it won't match to original color (Only about 90%). I sprayed and wiped using com-merge many times and wasted lot of paint. Eventually wasted money. :(

Got a quotation from a nearest 3m certified car cleaning shop named Foam Lance. Here are the things he suggested to do on my car:

Full interior and exterior cleaning - 2100/-
A/C duct sanitizing - 800/-
Rubber matting 1st quality - 1800/-
3M underbody anti rust coating - 2000/-

10% off on all if I choice to do all.

He also said he uses 3M's, Meguiar's products and other high quality products from usa. As far as minor dents and scratches, he said better to ignore them because they cost too much to fix and eventually won't be better. Even if needed, Honda service center will do better but cost will be above 20k and at the end slight difference in original paint and repainted surface can be noticed.

Actually my friend suggested to contact this shop as they are good and I feel as well but I'm confused whether to let them do interior and exterior cleaning or buy Meguiar's products and do it my self?

Of course I'm gonna get 3M underbody anti rust coating and A/C duct sanitizing done by them in coming weeks.

Currently I am using following items.
Can somebody suggest what and all extra I need for a decent car care.
And my observation after car wash. Some of the tar/oil marks remain on the body.[surprise]
How to remove them effectively? Can some one give advise on that?

In most of the car wash centres in Kochi they use diesel to clean the tar spots and its effective. But I would say do wax polish once in six month, its better. I have done this once and car looks almost new (tar/oil marks completely gone).
