Which Wax/Polish or Paint Sealant to use in brand new car

Hi folks,

Recently I purchased my 1st car Hyundai Fluidic Verna and I really fall in love with my car. I’ve experience of maintaining other cars & bikes and but so far I’ve used only local products like Pidilite Motomax Cream and liquid polish Pidilite They works good for polishing but I couldn’t understand how long they lasts on the paint surface or they are actually a wax product. I’ve used these for many years.

So here I’m actually not looking for a polish, as the car is brand new except for any scratch I will not require to polish it for at least 6 month. By a good shampoo wash the shine will remain for long. For now beside a good polishing compound, I’m looking for a stuff which last long over the paint surface like a paint protector sealant. You know which wont let the dirt and water on the surface etc.

I know about waxing but never seen any waxing stays for long like few brand says they last for 3-6 months. I also heard about Carnauba Wax but don’t know how far it truly works.

I’ve seen many products over internet, few cost less and few are very expensive. As I’ve never used these products so I need your help to advice me a good product at reasonable price, I don’t want very expensive stuff.

For now I found Formula 1 - Spray Wax FORMULA 1 SPRAY WAX 473ML : 100% ORIGINAL IMPORT FROM USA | eBay and after a little research and reviews of existing customer I brought one, however I haven’t used it yet. I will use it just for cleaning and shine after a wash.

Also I found Meguiar’s products which looks good but very very costly. I was looking for something like Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze Synthetic Sealant 2.0 http://www.meguiars.com/en/professional/products/m2116-synthetic-sealant-20-16oz/ but its very costly and also read few reviews that those are not that effective like they cost.

Formula 1 products looks like good price comparable to Meguiar’s if it’s a good brand but I don’t know about its reliability. So please suggest me if anyone has been using any good products or anyone having good knowledge about these stuff. Also my locations Kolkata if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Please note: I will do these waxing or polishing by myself so please don’t suggest 3m or any other professional service, Teflon coatings etc.

Forget about paint sealants. Modern age automotive paints can last for years if taken care of well. Stick to the basics: always park under shade, and wash/polish your car regularly. That's all. I have used Formula 1 Carnauba Gold polish and have found it to be a value for money product.

Turtle wax and formula 1 carnauba shampoo combination alone is more than enough to keep the car clean and shining.

Both are very cost effective and each item can last very well for minimum of 6 months.

Formula 1 shampoo&wax --- 473 ml--- 250 rs
Turtle wax - 270 gm ---- 230 rs

I am a newbie in this field, but as much I know there are countless products for auto detailing. all depends on your budget and how serious you are. Today we have some economic products like Formula1, Turtle wax, etc. The major issue with these products is that their duplicates are also there in the mkt. In expensive range we have Meguiars, Collonite (an excellent wax ), and many other high range waxes. Though having high end wash mitts, microfibers, polishes, waxes, etc. alone dosen't guarantee swirl free finish. We also have to follow proper techniques and most important lots of patience.
Happy detailing. :)

Please let me know about this Indian site. Detailed Clean India - Car Care Kit India | Detailing Products India

It appears to sell the world class products and I want to buy the following. Thanks.

Poorboys Bold N Bright 16oz
Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo 16oz

I am confused about the price quoted- whether it is in rupees or dollars. How could it be so cheap? Whether any hidden cost is there. Is there anybody to share their experience, please!

I just used this stuff which I bought from an car decor shop in Bangalore. Cost Rs 100/- Its liquid wax & white in colour almost like a moisturizer (for the car maybe [:)] ). After regular cleaning, Just poured a lot of drops on the hood/bonnet & the front bumper & applied using a microfibre cloth, it gave a good shine. It says on the bottle, use only on metal surfaces.

Bro, thanks for your immediate response towards helping me.
On the main page, there is a message in red “ALPHA Release - Prices not correct and checkout disabled".
Yes, the first page indicates in rupee symbol and everything priced as 100. Subsequent transaction page/cart indicates the total Price + VAT in numerical value without any currency symbol.
Their parent online site is in UK, and this must be their Indian franchise.
If the price in the cart page is right, we would be getting some best car care products. I have emailed to them. Let us wait for their response. Meanwhile I wanted to know from our forum members about their experience if any from this seller, to ensure their creditability.
I shall revert to you if I am lucky to get such product @that cost.
Bye.

I just received an email from them, which is self-explanatory. Let us wait.

Hi

There is a message on our homepage which says the checkout is disabled and the prices are all set as 100 INR. This is because we are alpha release for testing.

In the next month or so you will start to see these prices being updated for when we launch later this year.

All products will be in India and dispatched from India. Any further questions please ask.
Regards

Amrit
