Finally i waxed my car today, felt the silver color of a car when waxed doesn't give that much of shine which otherwise waxed in a dark colored cars or maybe my car's paint quality is pathetic.

Anyway bought formula 1 protectant from Reliance Autozone and i must admit it's really good and the shine lasts for 3 weeks(maybe lesser for you people, but long for me) and gives a nice citrus smell inside so that nobody feels nauseous and a pleasant odour.

Edit: Bought some brand perfume refill without knowing it's a perfume and wasted my 130 Rs which then was not wasted as i kept it open in a box.

Vishwas - I always felt, Silver isn't that shinny compared to other colors.

Is that Protectant a shampoo/wax? BTW, how that does smell inside?

One question for the experts here, does applying wax also prevent dust & mud to stick to the metal surfaces? From the time I started applying the liquid wax I notice that dust just comes off with a duster quickly which was earlier not that easy.

I think we can make it to shine.
Please see these pictures.
I have seen some of these beautiful silvery cars!
I will discuss about this in my thread soon.

Sliver will be shiny if it's washed frequently and not exposed to sun very frequently. What i felt is, i did not get the effect like in my previous car which was dark blue in color.

It's a liquid wax i think, the smell is good but lasts for only 3 to 4 days, it has citrus smell, an extract from orange.

Yes of course the wax helps to prevent the loose dust to go in one swish when wiped, also when it rains, the water droplets doesn't leave the mark in the body.

Even the dusters(Jopasu i presume) has some wax content on it, so that when wiped on the body, it doesn't create swirls

Yes. If waxed periodically and washed / cleaned frequently, the accumulation of dust is reduced compared to otherwise. In such cases, we can just clean it quickly with dusters like Jopasu in about 10 mins time.

Agreed. Bright shades respond well to such treatments, but the pain is, they need it more often than the lighter ones. And they would look good, ONLY if they are treated well always.

Sorry Vishwa, guess my question didn't reach you well. How does the liquid wax applied on the exterior has an effect in the interior?

Yes. Jopasu is a must indeed. Works well for loose dusts.

Good to know that I am not the only crazy guy who spends 2 hours every weekend to clean the car. But it really helps and gives the feeling of driving new car week after week. The routine I adopt is similar to what many of you have mentioned:
1. Remove floor mats and wash them / dry
2. Hose / Wet the entire car and let is soak for few minutes
3. Wash with car shampoo with plenty of water
4. 2 cycles of wipe and dry with fresher cloth
5. Interior cleaning with clean damp cloth - no detergents

Attaching some pics of my previous car (just washed) days before selling. Reaction of buyer was inspiring enough to maintain my new ride. They couldn't believe it was 5 year old car & had done 110k kms.

Dhana, Fantastically maintained. Even I do clean on every week end. But being mine is Velvet Red just one ride, lot of dust and the worst part is it will be visible very clearly.

I have a duster thru which I wipe before every ride. And once a week wash cleanly and more or less follow the same steps as you do. Additionally I fill water alone with one rupee shampoo shashe in windshield cleaner container.

My car cleaning generally consists of Three phases:
1. Body Wash.
2. Body Wax.
3. Inside cabin cleaning.

For car wash:
2 buckets, first a splash of water on the body, then mix Amway's car wash in another bucket and with the help of a sponge, applying it on the car thoroughly including the glass and mirrors including Sil area.
After the application, a splash of water to get rid of the cleaning agent and reuse if necessary in some parts.
By the time car dries up. I take out all the mats and clean it with the same solution used to clean the outer body.
When the car has dried up, comes the 2nd phase.

2. Polishing: Applying Amway's Silicon Glaze on the body, by first taking it over the soft cloth and then applying it. Let the polish dry and after that, buffing it up with the new soft cloth.
3. Inside cleaning mainly consists of using a home vacuum cleaner to get rid of the dirt ( if any) and then cleaning the seats and Dash Board with Leather n vinyl cleaner.
Lastly using Waxpol in the black portion of the car.

and Voila!! my car is shining new.

Here is a sample:

Friends, After regular water cleaning & before waxing I am using Colin Glass Cleaner to clean my car so that it does not have any sort of water stains/marks.

Please let me know if there is any reasons any of you know that this cannot be used for a car. Thanks.

I am not sure but experts can comment - what I know is Colin is use for glass cleaning only. There are chances of paint becoming fade in near future by using colin on painted surface.

Why do you use colin, IMO when you are coating the paint with a coat of wax, those water marks will be taken care off by the wax itself.

True but two reasons.

1. Wax bottle says the painted surface has to be absolutely clean before waxing.
2. Glass: Wax is not for the glass, so I don't apply wax there but just use colin.
