How About Another Independence Day Meet?

Sir, I am PMing around 800 active members/newly joined memebrs already I have sent PM to 400 members.

I am sending the PMs to PAN India whomever want to join they can join. Dont know, seems most of the people are not interested. I am sending mail about two things. One is this meet and another is for contribution towards our official calender.

But the response is very poor. Hope people are very busy.

Why don't you take any one of our member from your region along with you if some body is interested. It will good in terms of safety, easy driving

Let me ask couple of members near my home if they are interested. The more the merrier but I doubt if anyone can afford these many leaves.

For me it's definitely worth as i want be meet some like minded auto enthusiast and also i don't take unnecessary leaves and have some 20 odd leaves left for this year (Out of 22 leaves allotted for a year ). So i will definitely come for meet. Will contact others near my place to see if anybody is interested.

Thanks for your wonderful initiation. For poor response you need to consider members priority too. Many might be already tied up with Independence Day holiday. It is tough to give confirmation for family guys before two months, we never know what surprise is hiding for us from all unknown corners. On top of that we are planning for two day trip with a night stay, so it is a lot of considerations for family members. Hope you understand the situation, as they might also have plans to visit their near and dear ones on those holidays.

If I were you, I might plan for one day meet on some weekend rather than on sort of long weekend. Please excuse me, if I said something wrong on forum.

My suggestion -
We will see the opinion from everyone and if necessary we can amend the venue/date well before booking the accommodation. If we come to know what will be the expenses, members can look into that also. The staying option we can make it open to every individual members.

Ok, Sethu Sir, I will elaborate certain things which may be useful for our plan. These are only my personal opinions whether I join the meet or not.

1. I think we are going for a pleasure family outing plus an automotive meet. So there are two interests in the meet and we need to think of both.

2. I had been to HH with families during 2007 and with my experience it is not such a great hill station like ooty,kodai,munnar,chickmaglur. It is a small quite place mostly suitable for honeymoon couples or lovers who want an extended privacy.

3. Since 15th is a national holiday, lot of things will not be available like non vegterian food as well its a dry day. To be very frank what is a fun if we are in a hill station with some chilled weather and eat sambar idly and sleep down sorry I am little blunt here.

4. Since it is a monsoon season and by any chance it rains well on those days, we will not even able to venture outside and families will get disappointed as there will be no playing activity or anything due to rain and mud outfield.

5. I always think the meet should be either completely family one or completely with singles. If we mix both then either side(families or singles) may feel uncomfortable and things do not go well. As all the family men will gang up with their families and singles gang will move some where else.

6. Like Rekharam said, it is a good holiday time where most of the families may plan different outings either to a place or visiting some far away relatives are parents. Also there are kids who are some times very serious about attending school functions due to sports and other programs.

7. If stay is too costly, then some families may not be comfortable spending for the place for what it offers.

So examining all the above, we should think of the things. I think I have not added any confusion, but tried to discuss the things in detail.

As you know our gathering was so good at Hosur, but still I felt that the venue was not that great and supportive to leave us with some good memories of the place.

I appreciate for your great effort Sethu and only wanted to see that we think and go in a right direction, when people like SankarNarayan shown interest to join us from far away place and it is our duty to see that they carry back some nice memories worth for their effort in travelling all the way.

I agree with you. As you said the Hosur meet was really good but we got nothing to remember about the place. Point No. 3 is also a serious matter to look into. In fact I was waiting for somebody to raise that issue.

Can we look for any other location and combine the meet with holidays and extend the days to three or four? If members can put their input we can take a decision. I think the thread is still moving in first gear.

If it is full of singles then will this place be okie as if we are not going to roam around all the places. we would like to have calm and un crowded place to have chit-chat and other things if people are interested [That is the main reason i wanna night stay]

I dont think that way sir, Being that is holiday that places will have full crowd and they will have all their menus. if you go on non-holiday, since less people are expected then as you said we might end up in having sambar idle

Iam okie with it. But lot of people are willing to come with their family and make this meet as part of their outing

Some people like me who have different weekly offs other than sat/sun might have problem applying long leaves and really do not know what to say for this

What ever we all agree and convinient for the meet will take place. but whatever we need to act fastly. otherwise am sure we will end up in no place to stay.

Very thoughtful and valid points RK Sir, especially the 3rd one Completely with you in that context. Now, shall we reconsider the date Aug 15th at all? Then, let's change the topic title and make it more attractive for many members to look in to that and participate.

I feel, 3 - 4 days may be too much for a family get together, rather 1 night stay is ideal. Yes, we should look for more locations to make this thread more spicier and attract others to participate well.

Hai, this is rayal. I am new to TAI and I am very much interested to participate in meet.
