Re: New Honda Jazz 2011 Launched at Killer Price

vinayakvp Welcome to TAI and congrats on your Jazz booking

Where do you stay in pune ?

I have done some comparison for Diesel Hatches and Honda Jazz
Fuel efficiency figures are not practical, almost all the diesel cars from these segment gives 18+ kmpl in city and 20+ on highway

Re: New Honda Jazz 2011 Launched at Killer Price

Went to check out Jazz today with my dad. Still not able to choose which variant. Jazz select or X? And Urban Titanium is definitely the preferred colour. Earlier we had chosen Red but the car just doesn't look good in that colour.

What freebies should I ask for? Asked for rear parking sensors but they say it isn't available for the Jazz. :(
The price difference in both the variants is marginal but except for a couple of useful items, rest of the features in Jazz X are more or less for the show. So it’s quite up to you to decide whether you really require those features and can extend the budget without hurting the wallet much. You can find the list of features available on Jazz X here: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...2043-honda-launches-jazz-x-rs-7-53-lakhs.html

Hi Amit,
I have booked a Jazz about two weeks back knowing that there is a waiting time. I have done some comparison for Diesel Hatches and Honda Jazz after booking and seeing the shock of petrol hike. (Booking amount 25K only not 1 lac).
Hearty congratulations to one more Honda Jazz owner!

Hi Surfer, I stay at Chinchwad.

The FE are referenced from Carwale.com reviews and comparisons. Yes the diesel hatches as well as the Honda Jazz official figures are much higher than the one considered. The Honda Jazz official figures are 16.7 kmpl while that of swift is about 18+.
You will be surprised the current Honda city of mine gives 21-22 kmpl whenever I drive on the Pune Bangalore route.

The point that I wanted to highlight is that even with the averaged out low efficiency figures there is not a major impact on the decision as the monthly running is low.

Only ETIOS Diesel and Figo TDCi are good options in comparison to Jazz if one looks at the alternatives for Jazz with diesel in mind. I felt Chevy Beat is too small hence did not check about it. They advertise as 24 kmpl (??)

The JAZZ X has the following extra as compared to Jazz Select:

1. FOG Lamps
2. Driver Seat Height adjustments (useful if you have height challenges)
3. Electronically Retractable ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirrors)
3. Sporty grill
4. High mount Spoiler

Asking for original accessories may increase your waiting time unless the same are in stock with the dealer. Please note that these may be for old jazz and not for the facelifted one.

These are petrol figures and diesel swift does give 18 in city and 20+ on highways so as the other diesel cars. These figures are mentioned by many owners and yes actual ARAI figures are high but original figures are slightly lower than that.
In the current situation petrol diesel price difference is 30 Rs and thus 800+ kms/months does makes sense to buy a diesel car IMO.

You also can view Jazz in all the colours on Honda Site. My personal pick is red, white or black though, but you must check the car in your favourite colours in person before finalizing.

Re: New Honda Jazz 2011 Launched at Killer Price

I got a call from dealer today , they were telling a red jazz select is available for delivery and they have UT select X version. So i thought to visit to see how UT actually looks.

As i'm not so fond of that much red i opted out and sticked on UT.

I managed to take some snaps which i thought to share here :) .

Jazz X is not available at many dealership including my local dealership. IMHO X looks much better than Select edition and is worth the extra money. So if you can afford I will suggest you to go for X only.

@Nuvo
Yea you are right X have its looks.
But considering me, i was initially intended to buy i20 , then i switched to Jazz Base Version after hearing the huge price cut. But at-last i rounded up on select. I think X is 30k more than select, which i'm not so comfortable. [;)].

I have few questions

1.Do we really need additional seat cover, something like leather? How much will it cost?".The seat coming with Jazz is more like

2. How about spoilers? It costs 7k from dealer. Will it be usefull?

3.How fog lamps come helpful ?

4. Dealer is saying sun film will cost 3k?

Please let me know your thoughts?.
If i have missed anything which is needed, please let me know,

Re: New Honda Jazz 2011 Launched at Killer Price

1. Requirement of seat cover is a subjective thing. Some people like original seat covers and get 3M cleaning done regularly. I wanted to ride the same boat but my better half insisted to go for seat covers. In any case it is always advisable to buy seat cover from accessory shops rather than dealership. There much wider & more sensible choices available at good accessory shop as compared to dealership.

2.Spoiler enhance the looks and I think it would be possible to install it afterwards also from dealership. Although in sports car spoiler enhances stability but in this context it purely cosmetic.

3. Fog lamp helps specially in winter. And you can not put the same in Jazz Select afterwards because there is no slot for the same in bumper.

4. Again for sun film also it is better to go for accessory shop. For me sun film is not a must have.

5. What attracts me most about X vis-a-vis Select is the height adjustability for seats.

If you are running short of money, then go for Select. But we will miss Seat height adjust & fog lamp. Rest can always be retrofitted phase-wise manner.

Re: New Honda Jazz 2011 Launched at Killer Price

The colors on the website/brochures look different from the actual colors on the car. Black is difficult to maintain and it tends to heat up the the car if kept under the sun. White some how does not suit Jazz, red is attractive but sometimes can be too loud. Silver on the other hand is a rich color but Urban Titanium beats it bad. This is just as per my opinion. May differ with others. I can see from the pictures posted by Sportscar, UT is killer. Maybe because it has not been on many cars yet.

The dark shade sporty alloys in the X is really complimenting the UT. Sportscar thanks a ton for the pictures man!

Thanks SC for the pics- UT Jazz is looking good in pics. :)
3. Fog lamp helps specially in winter. And you can [strike]not[/strike] put the same in Jazz Select afterwards because there is no slot for the same in bumper.
Honda showroom peeps had said we can get Fog lamps fitted at a later date. [:)]
5. What attracts me most about X vis-a-vis Select is the height adjustability for seats.
And it is kinda stupid of Honda that the New Jazz Select doesn't have it- even cheaper cars like Esteem have had it IIRC.

The Select makes a great buy even if one is not short of money.
Though it will look kinda retarded to be using a pillow below my bum because Honda was too cheapo to offer seat height adjustment but pillow it will be. [frustration]
Most fog lamps end up as cosmetic add-ons. One can get them at a later date if need be. Looking the the Select and X front-end, they might just drill holes into the front as the fog lamps seem to come with their own housing. (Other cars seem to have lamps fitted into recessed holes)
