hi gdave,

I am planning for stock headlight upgrade and deciding to replace them with philips 100/90 wattage bulbs.I don't have people doing good projector and hid stuff here so i have no other option.Accessory guy at honda is a total idiot,and telling me to have hids for 10000 rs,and that fool doesn't even know anything about projectors and when i asked that these hids will cause glare to the oncoming traffic and will disperse without projectors and also it will damage the stock holders and reflectors,he just denied everything and said nothing will happen,the light will be extremely good,no damage/blackening to stock reflectors and wires.
As far as i read on this thread and other forums that hids without projectors are useless in our honda city.
so what do you say?Have you done any upgrades to headlights??

Head lamp upgrade will be a nice option.
yeah HID 's are useless without projectors. I am also planning for 100/90 upgrade in the next service.
How much they quoted for up gradation?

Somehow I don't feel upgrading Headlamps in our cars is a must. Putting HIDs will simply attract cop attention. They will look out for the earliest opportunity to stop & fine you for unnecessary archaic laws in our country. Iv driven my Jazz in highways at night & within city at night in torrential rain too....theyr'e absolutely fine, trust me
Better & cheaper/safer option is to go for DRLs

@Jazzy - The purpose of DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) is to make your vehicle appear prominent and get noticed easily by vehicles coming from opposite direction during day time. DRLs are not meant for providing illumination during night driving and cannot be a substitute for good head lamps.

Got an interesting figure during last day journey. 19.9km/l (for 22km drive) with ACC( I switched off AC when I felt the cabin is cool enough and turned it back ON when it is getting less cooler) I hate this kind of driving with steady throttle with a speed below 60 kmph. I drove like this until I got the above FE. Afterwards turned back to the real me [evil].
But after the trip, when I returned home, MID showed 16 kmpl. Traveled almost 200 kms.

Wow man thats a real good figure you churned out.Till now i have got max 16.2kmpl that was on jaipur-ajmer expressway,driving at 90-120kmph at 2500-3500rpm and full time ac on.
I hope the figure will improve after the oil change in second service.

with ACC? I suppose that's a typo. [:)]

Till now, MID in my car has shown maximum 20.3 kmpl without AC. That was just for a small time while I was on a 400 km journey. The figure shown in MID at the end of the journey was 18.7 kmpl.

^^Buddy everything is looking good,but the steering cover was looking quite odd to me.No offense.
In fact why you chose to go for a cover when the steering is already so good to hold?

these are looking very nice. After seeing this I also wanted to have the same.
Will the shades roll up and down along with the windshields?

where did you get them?

@TSIVIPUL
I have hyperhydrosis means my palms and soles sweat too much even in slightly warm surroundings so i chose this one.It gives me good grip then without cover.
@gdave
Ya these have blunt hooks attached with springs.These hooks just get hooked with the upper corner of glass as we roll up,and as the glass comes down due to spring action the curtain gets rolled up and when completely down the hook gets detatched from the glass.As the hooks are blunt so no damages whatsoever to anything.
I got them from an accessory shop in jaipur(rajasthan)when i went to my home 15 days back.
I feel very much comfortable with these shades though they are not comparable to the comfort of sunfilms.

Hi gdave,
just happened to have an almost empty tank with fuel needle at the lowermost point and the range showing 32kms with low fuel indicator light on.I went to the fuel pump and said to make it full tank,then i was surprised that it filled full with just 32 litres.Honda city fuel tank capacity is 42 litres according to specifications.I saw the fuel meter showing full tank and range 536 kms.
After this i drove the car a few kms and went again to petrolpump the next day,it filled just 2 litres and again became full.
I am confused that is the fuel tank only 32-35 litres capacity or there is something wrong with my car's tank or fuelgauge or fuel indicator?One more confusing thing was that the calculated range was according to 42 litres as my average shown at that time was approx.13-14.
Is this a problem or what??

Hi, Dr_Sachin. There is nothing wrong with the fuel guage. Honda cars have got a reserve kind of system in them. As per the owners manual, the reserve tank capacity is 8 litres. So this is what really happened when you filled your tank. You filled 32 litres when your fuel guage showed almost empty. Even it shows empty, there is 8 litres of reserve petrol already in tank which is not shown in the fuel guage actually. So the equations goes likes this

[8 litre reserve]+32 litres on first day + 2 litres on the second day= 42 litres. !![:D]

I hope you are clear now[:)]
