Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

Found an information on Service Cost History of Brio (MT / AT) for 5 years. [thumbsup]

Honda Brio Service and Maintenance Cost | CarDekho.com

Meanwhile, has any Brio owners switched onto Synthetic Oil?

My 3rd Service would be due in a couple of months time. Should i switch to synthetics? [thinking]
doesnt make sense since the service interval is only 5k and they keep changing it every 6 months. would end up with quite a bill every time.

Its 6 months / 10k kms. And i guess Honda does change to synthetics upon request.

Other end users may throw some light on this. And the cost difference as well please. [:)]

How about getting the rear seat in 60:40 split from after market vendors?

And is anyone planning to swap the driver seat with height adjustable ones which comes in Amaze / Brio (variant to be launched in a couple of months)?

Its around 10.8k kms now, in 11th month running. The usage is on lower side now, as am back to work station. The initial 4 months was rocketing. Almost 8k kms, thereon gradually reduced.

My front (both) LED's weren't working last week. Didnt get time as i was travelling for official work. Now am back, and would check if therez a wiring problem or has it gone katput. If later, i'll need to get a pair of new ones. [roll]

Between, post pics of your scuffs.

Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

Insurance renewal next month. Got a quote from Honda dealer (Bajaj Allianz - Honda Assure), which is as follows

70% bumper ---- IDV of 4,01,600/- ---- Policy premium including tax = 9339/-

Zero dep. ---- IDV of 4,01,600/- ---- Policy premium including tax = 12723/-, with coupon for IPT (internal panel treatment of all 4 doors worth 4k).

Any suggestions? [thinking]

EDIT:

Previous IDV of 4,76,900/- ----- Policy premium including tax = 14,999/-

Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

for 4 lacs IDV + 0 dep, honda assure with bajaj allianz is costing me 11,200
for 4 lacs IDV + 0 dep with bharti axa without honda assure is Rs 10,600

check my ownership thread for details.

p.s what is internal panel treatment of all 4 doors ?
googling got me this

What are internal coatings (Internal Panel Protection)?

Internal coatings are wax-like compounds containing rust preventive chemicals, and are applied to areas inside cavities of a car, such as the space inside the hollows of doors (door skins), fenders and frame rails.
They work well in areas that are difficult to reach with undercoating. Internal coatings are soft and non-curing; they have to be so because they are applied in special areas such as window channels where an ordinary undercoating would cause clogging of the window mechanism.

Yes, thats exactly what he said. There are chances of water seepage into door frames, thereby causing rust. So, IPT would get a coating done to the interiors, which would take care of the rusting.

Is it actually required? I've read of Hyundai Getz having door rusting problem, but they were manufacturing defects due to the sheets used, right?

Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

i think its a sham.

there is hardly any place among the doors to apply any coating, maybe they mean to cover the exposed metal sheet which i personally think was a shabby job on Honda;s part to leave that uncovered. other than that, i dont see nor expect Honda to open the linning of the doors and apply anything inside the door. the autocop guy opened mine while fitting the lock and as far as i know, it was a 2 hour job.

try and get something else with that 4k bucks they offered you.
