Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

Glad to hear that breezeakabrio , honda's service team is one of the best in buisness. And for tyre go for the bridgestone potenza g3 they are even better then the xm2's; cos they will last longer then the michelins because michelins are made of softer compound which is not mated properly for indian conditions; although they give good ride comfort but what is the point if it will wear out faster and its better to stick with the same size because upsizing will give honda a reason to lapse your warranty for any XYZ reason if you face any problem with your car in future.

Thanx [:D].

Got it for 1445/- including shipping from ebay.

Wire had to be peeled a bit. Wouldn't void the warranty in such cases.
Can you tell me how to install the scuff plates without voiding the warranty?
i would love the blue car which appears on the side step
i have brio Manual V(mt)

Aprpreciate ur help

@bReeze AkA brIo
where do you plan to intall the mapmyindia GPS screen.
I find the Brio's windshield much inclined thus small vertical distance. Dropping the sun visors fully down almost covers half the view.
and the dashboard is to curved/styled to get anything stick

Agree that windscreen is quite small and dash is too styled for use, what i've done is mount the stand behind the RVM and place the device behind it. This reduces the obstruction on windscreen to quite an extent, and gives good viewing angle to the device. Just make sure that while you change the RVM from day to night mode, the MPI device shouldnt come in contact. This is the best place which i've found it to be comfortable to use, at the same time, reduce the obstruction owing to small and inclined front windscreen. [glasses]

This was done peeling the wire a bit (without cutting it actually) which connects the door lights (close to fuse box). This technician has 'H' experience. [:D]

There are clips available in the market, wherein no peeling / cutting is required. I've come across a few reviews where they had mentioned about it. Am not sure how exactly they look, so just have a look at the local garage where the work carried out is good.

Guess, i'll go check them out once i plan to change the OEM horns.

What happened to the AC condensation issue?
Its on and off, sometimes there for a minute, other times not there at all. I'm planning to get it checked during next service, in case it doesn't get worse. Maybe an AC/ filter cleaning should do the trick. Fingers crossed. [:)]

Re: Honda Brio: Love @ First Drive (8 Months & 9K Kms)

Finally managed to get some time and better shoes for my Peppy Pot [clap].

Went to Premji's Tyre Plus @ Thane west, with the intention of going for Continental Eco Contact 3.

Once there, Mark Premji showed me both Conti, as well as Michelin XM2. I should say treads on Mich were impressive. He also demonstrated the rolling comparison with demo balls which is provided at Michelin stores by the company. The rolling was in fact better compared to the other ball. Plus, the speed rating for Michelin was H, compared to Conti's T.

I was concerned with the side walls. I wanted it strong. Upon that, he showed me this video.

Michelin XM2 Test - Pothole Resistant Tyres - YouTube

It happens that XM2 was developed especially for Indian conditions.

Finally, i was happy and went for Michelin XM2 175/65 R14, for all 5 wheels. Mrp was 4850/- per tyre, with 1k for stock tyres. Wheel alignment, balancing & Nitrogen filling were complementary.

Drove 25-30kms on the way back. Initial impressions are as follows.

- Handling & Grip has increased compared to MRF Zvtv, OEM tyres

- Road noise on concretes, pavered blocks & bad patches have reduced drastically

Am very happy with the change. Feels like Peppy Pot has come to life again [clap]. I was becoming [frustration] with the stock tyre performance.

I wonder why Honda isnt launching Brio with Michelins as stock tyres.

Update on Rear seat comfort, with 3 adults.

My better half was complaining yesterday about the "AutoRickshaw" feeling in rear seat on conrete roads in Mumbai [frustration]. Though three adults could sit there without much problem, but she was disappointed with the experience. This was the first time she switched to rear seat, from co-passenger seat.

She said it bounces like anything, and head keeps touching the C pillar, for person sitting near the door.

That moment I was taken back to June 2012, wherein i had to decide "which car" and wondered if i should have gona with Figo. [cry]

Plus, boot is an option for light baggage only 1-2 / 2-3 numbers (suitcases / bags) !!! Anything beyond this, would make you re-think on the buying decision. The actual problem is the shape of glass hatch and limited height of the car towards C pillar. [roll]

Brio has pretty decent ride quality. If there were no complaints when seated in front, am wondering what makes the ride experience so different from rear seats. [roll] Are the rear shocks tuned drastically different from the front ones? If you are really worried, take a ride in another Brio and compare. Dont worry, Brio is really a refined and good car. Enjoy revving it [drive]

Even i was surprised, because entire stretch from Mumbai to Calicut, which is about 1200kms, my friend didnt complain of it as such.

Probably, its the concrete road plus 3 adults, and the change from free co-passenger seat to packed rear seat made her complain.

And this was en-route EEW to Powai to Juhu beach stretch in evening horrible traffic. [frustration]

Those are at at right psi, and are running on N2.

The problem is with concrete surface. Yesterday, had no issues on flat rubberised road.

Meanwhile, crossed 10,000kms last night. [clap]

Found an information on Service Cost History of Brio (MT / AT) for 5 years. [thumbsup]

Honda Brio Service and Maintenance Cost | CarDekho.com

Meanwhile, has any Brio owners switched onto Synthetic Oil?

My 3rd Service would be due in a couple of months time. Should i switch to synthetics? [thinking]
