Ac for amaze is pretty good. Coming from maruti alto( suppose to be one of the best ac's) I felt amaze is even better . its got enough to cover the entire cabin quickly .

I test drove brio . Brio=amaze except for amaze has got better cabin space with armrest n all and a much bigger boot.

You can also try TD etios .
Wait !! What ? Armrest ?In Amaze ?[confused]

Great ! Should do it pretty soon then.
The more earlier yields you more money.

Hyundai bought the low capacity A.C compressor from its small car EON and placed it in GRAND i10 and XCENT. The A.C problem exists in GRAND i10 too.
Are you joking ?[confused]

I have installed Roots windtone in front grill. Hope Vishnu its fine.... As per the technician there is a lot space between AC condenser and Horn.....
That'll be fine.[clap]

Changed the location of Roots windtone as Service manager suggests to fix it below head light because if something happens to A/C condenser than they wouldnt cover that in warranty and we will have to pay 12000 for new A/C condenser.

seriously man,Grand i10 and xcent A.Cs are not effective because of the low capacity compressor.
That's very annoying somehow.

This is the one am talkin about ...
Oh,armrest at the back. lol[clap] i though you were pointing to an armrest for the driver:tongue:

I'd go for 2k Rs package. Keeping the saved money in bank as FD and after 2 years, do whole re-coating from that FD. [:D]

But 3.8k package is also tension free.

Also check the price in Honda service center. see how much is the difference between Honda & 3M showroom. Here in my city my friend did anti rust under body paint for his Amaze from Honda service center they charged 2500/- (5 yrs warranty). They used & mixed 3M product in front of him, it was the same product used in 3m showroom. Ask for any discount they can give.

Honda is charging 4000 for some diamond anti rust system. 3M is not giving any discount on this. I am also thinking to go for 2 years and after that will get it done again.

Kindly note the following when doing re-coating (may also apply for first time coating),

Make sure they do the procedure correctly, which involves washing off the dirt and scrubbing >> drying >> cleaning with fat solvents (degreasing) >> primer pre-coat >> drying >> rust preventive pre-coat >> drying >> 1st coat of Silicone-polyether or what ever it is >> drying >> 2nd coat of Silicone-polyether or what ever it is >> drying.

Preparation is very important here otherwise the whole process is waste. Some just wash the under body and spray the rust preventive coating and after couple of days, it starts to peel off.

Also whenever you scrape the bottom, you have do re-coating the scraped area asap and good preparation also applies here.

No matter how much money spent, the work they do should be perfect otherwise its waste of time, money & materials. [:)]

Wow it seems your munching a lot of miles with your Honda Amaze.[clap] 22k in 9 months is pretty decent amount of running.

Anyways, How is the newly engineered Honda's i-Dtech engine doing after 22k of running? Any reduction in the engine noise? How about the total cost on maintenance and service during this period? Any sort of negative's or irritants about the car which you think can be improved upon subsequently by Honda?

Hey Guys,

I am new to driving and have driven around 1500kms now in about 1 month. I own Honda Amaze SMT idtech. Few observations which I could draw from this one month of driving. Would appreciate if you guys could clear these doubt's of mine:

1. If I am in 3rd gear doing about 30kmph and have to take my foot off accelerator I can hear some type of chain sound and when I change to 2nd gear its fine. Would like to know what is this chain type of sound. Is it normal because I do not hear it in any other gear when rpm drops.

2. I have also notices after making the turn when steering is trying to come back to the center position, it kind of vibrates. I am not sure if this vibration was there before. This is more evident when driving in slow speeds. Have any of you observed this in diesel amaze.

3. Because of no wheel cladding I think, any stones on road make prominent noise when they hit the tyre well. What are the options to reduce this please?

Apart from the above I think the car is a gem and being a new driver I am enjoying it. I am getting constant 21 kmpl in city with AC on all the time. Haven't driven on highways yet.

Also planning to get seat covers soon, not researched yet but would appreciate if you have got any suggestions. I would like fixed type ones.

Thanks in advance. Great thread.[clap]

Yes, The Engine noise has settled to a very great extend, along with my DIY dampening and DIY installation of Sub, Amp and Component's overall there's no noise in the cabin at present[evil]

3rd service(1st oil change at 10,000kms ) : Rs 2204
4th service(oil change and all filters changed except the fuel filter(the stock wasn't arrived yet) at 20,000kms : Rs 4995

Negative's : Revv limiter kicks at 150 kmph. Though i don't ued to fly at those speeds, a revv limiter restricting the potential of the car is something bad.[frustration]

Cheap Plastic : The glove box , the A pillar's used to have some kind of vibes during the primary stages. All vibe's are now sorted out though they would've improved the plastic quality so as to avoid the vibes. 3M tapes to the rescue.

Positive : The car is very relaxed and stainless during a constant 100-120 kmph. Till the range you can seen the ECO light, pretty good. After that even if you're slowly flooring down, the ECO light vanishes. It is Butter smooth at these speeds and very planted.

Mileage : Attaching a picture of my Trusted Fuel Log App[evil]

Drive is 70% city and 30% highways.

Hope this instareview Satisfied you :)

1.That's the engine knocking. That is common. All you've to do is downshift, make to the proper rpm and then up shift. As simple as that[;)]

2.This is because your steering is Hydraulic assisted. It gives you the feedback of the road. Hydraulic assisted steering's are far more precise than simple electronic one's. Helps you flow around the corner when you're enthusiastic [evil]

3.At current situation, i haven't find any solution for this. a DIY would be hard enough to be done and hence settled to go until Honda or some aftermarket one's would come[frustration]

and about the seat cover's go for the one's which make the cabin feel more airy. Light colors will be hard to maintain since the accumulated dirt will be visible. Better go for any Dark shade's and a small patch of light shade to give the contrast.
