Hi ,
Yesterday i have purcahsed an HID Kit for my Pulsar 180 uG4 . When tried to install there is a problem that when the bike is started & HId light is switched on it get off then again it lights up again , then goes off . The elctrician is saying that it is Due to the problem that the Kit is not getting enought current from the Battery . He then connected the Kit directly to the bike battery & then there is not problem . hence he suggested me to put another switch for the light so that i can turn on the park light as usual but the for turning on the light i have to use an extra switch which he will fit somewhere below the handle . Also i can change the light beams using this switch only & not the switch in the handle
So Plz Explain how you have installed the kit or have u done the method as my technician told
PLZ its urgent

No need of seperate switch. make present line dummy. use as your electrician.
connect via ignition. else when you park some one may switch on them.
Switch on your lights only after starting your engine and try to keep it off at idling!
ajaskochi, i too would suggest you to avoid going for an extra switch which is connected to the battery directly. As Ilango said, get it connected via ignition so that the lights can be turned on only when the ignition is ON. Also these switches often tend to get rusted due to their odd position of installation which is why it is better to get the connection done via OE switches.
A short story about my HID:
I was also told the same thing when I got the HID fitted by their(HID walla) mechanic. He told me that you will have to connect another (extra) switch, which I didnot wanted. So when the HID was connected with the OE setup, only HI beam was working. He told me that you can get only one beam on the OE wiring. I was tensed and was about to drop the HID plan, but any how the output was mouthwatering and awesom so I got the HID fitted that way only.
Later, next day I went to our
family mechanic (who repairs our family's two wheelers) and he told
that since your bike has DC setup you do not want any kind of alteration or switches, After hearin that I gave him my bike to do the wiring. Later he was also failed to do so.
Hence
I rode the bike with HI beam for around 3-4months.
Once I met another (car) electrician, he told after checking that either your bulb is faulty or the blaster. Now again the tension started. Once met my old school friend after ages on a signal and he was too on
P180UG4 with HIDs but his hid was working fine.
Both HI/Low beams were working on OE switches with OE wiring only. I requested him to show the wiring to my mechanic. And thanks to him, he came next day with his bike. So we started tallying the wiring and all, and found out that
my HID wiring was faulty. When his HID wiring was connected to mine, the HID worked fine.
So found some
JUGAD walla mechanic after some days, and told him about the problem. He agreed to help me, but he first clarified that
wiring might go dead after he would some jhol. I agreed to take the risk. And the result aaha... he did it. some wire inside the wiring near the relay was not working properly(donna exactly). So after that I am enjoying both the beams.
Now for your problem:
I think the electrician might not be a pro in installing the HID. And take my words
'P180 UG4 DOES NOT NEED ANY ALTERATION IN OE WIRING, OR ANY EXTRA SWITCH FOR THE HID'
Check your earthing wire properly.
NOTE: When you remove your headlight, there are bunch of plugs. My electrician has connected the battery wire inside one of that plug. On enquiring he said that why to take the wiring till the battery, if we have the same outlet here. So if your mechanic is a pro, he can fid that easily.
Rest the blaster's H4's plug is connected to the OE H4 bulb's plug, and the rest of the wiring is simple, just connected the similar plugs thats it.
Hope this is helpful!
