Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

theres screws in the wheel arch, at the sides near battery and the windshield reservoir and two at the ends above radiator.
That all screws I opened(one in the wheel arch and six on the radiator side.); but the clips which are under the bumper, I guess 4-6 black clips type I couldnt open.

BTW I was talking about those plastic clips under the bumper marked in red. Can any one tell me how to open them?[roll]

Similar thing happened with my left fog lamp. Three of the clips were directly broken from bumper in such way that it was impossible to apply again to bumper. Fevi quick was also not useful in this case. Result, I had to change whole bumper[frustration]

arr she looks a pirate [:D], i think you have to pull the bumper up and then release the mechanism.
Will check it then.

Oh is it? Nways will try something or the other. Will fix it to the bumper permanently. I am not going to change the bumper just for the foglamp as of now. BTW people suggested me to remove the other fog lamp too.[:D]

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

So as all of you might be knowing that the festival of Holi is around the corner; though kids in my area have already started the celebrations; I had done the preparations too... for my car I mean to say.[:D]

Took the car to our painter. We got all the denting/painting/polishing work done from him. Got the car machine polished and waxed. Though the results are not that like done in 3M dealerships or at Meguiars outlet, but its okey for me. Atleast to protect the car from holi colour. I would have done only waxing by myself but my car needed a machine polish very badly since it was not polished after the monsoons.

So first the car was sanded to remove all the dirt.
You could see dull tail lamps and dull paint. I had specially told them to land lightly since the car was new and already clean.

After that machine polishing was started using rubbing compounds.
Check out the tail lamps and the rear quarter pannel.

Then they washed the whole car. They used diesel for black/matte parts to remove rubbing compounds from there. Also they used thinner on all the glass to clean any paint marks/ dirts.

Waxing was done later on. No pics for that since the sun was already set by that time. Also no pics for the results as of now. Will upload them later on.

Over all; the swrill marks are reduced IMO. The car feels more alive now. Looks more clean and some touch ups were done on bumper scratches.[:D]

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

wow that's good to know that you took the car for detailing. [:D]

i too was planning but the sc guys said there's no need for it now on my car. do it in 18 or maybe 24 months.
so how much this costed you ? a local guy told me 800 rupees for my i10. didn't ask for verna.

and be sure to cover the car , last time i had to use rubbing compound to remove a very hard purple color from the bonnet when the car was just a month old [lol] even when i parked on the main road and avoided the streets.

Alright...The bad things about Verna is not so big. Fog lamp clamps break on small impact, Even mine is broken, but i fixed it.

All 3 clamps are broken on the Right side, I was getting ready for a long trip to Kerala that night and in the Evening it broke upon impact with a Dio.

I had to fix it for the night journey, well I pushed a thick Thermocol just behind the Fog lamp and the body. I swear it did 1200 KMS of journey and it was picture perfect like new. Though occassionally I check if it is loosing its grip.

May be when there is more damage I will go for a bumper change, till then, its an tested alternative and suggestion from my side. Try it.

Thanks bro. Regarding the cost; that is Dad's department. Since we are his fixed customer he charge us very reasonable. Dad has a different kind of friendship relationship with him. Regarding the cover; my car is 99% covered in my locality. The only time when she is naked is while bathing, thats it.
You make sure to wax your car a couple of days before holi.

Yes Vicky; verna has a very cheap bumper both cost wise and quality wise. Good that you did some jugad for your foglamp.

Nways I forgot to mentioned you guys that the foglamp has been fixed by the denter there. He removed the bumper. Out of four clip one was perfect. Second was tightened as it it. Third was screwed using a u-nut type clip and the fourth is tied with a wire.[lol] This is known as The Great Indian Jugad.:lol!: This was possible only because the foglamp's clips were perfect. Though there is slight bulge near the curve and the foglamp is few mm outwards due to broken clips, but something is better than nothing. Also it is not shaking. And yes, not a single drop of fewiquick was used.[:D]

And here are the result pics clicked yesterday.

And this was my today's ODO.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

And atlast today got the rear coil springs replaced under warranty.[:D] Now I feel that the car looks few mm higher from rear. Not too much but there is slight difference my be psychological effect.[roll]
Now the thing is, with just two people in the front the rear suspension is making tak tak noise when the car bounce. Earlier it was when the car was fully loaded with five people on board. Though during trial run there was no noise at all. It only comes when the car bounces at speed of after crossing breakers. Actual difference will be felt after few days usage. But as of now a thumbsup for this new springs from my side, if there was no noise at all. Now one more day I need to spend in Modi.[anger]

actually even i get that thak thak noise from front. The car touched its first speed breaker after long today had 4 in car and bags at naigaon filmcity. I really need to do something of the headlights, i had to keep speeds below 40-50 on those pitch black highways as i couldnt see much ahead of me

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

hey friends i am new to this site, i need help from you all. i am planning to purchase igen i20 1.2 asta(O) but am really confused between colours as the options are red, bronze, white and twilight blue. grey is eliminated because one of our area member owns it. not interested in silver. so it would be helpful if you guys can help me out with the colour confusion.
if you can post some pics it will be really nice. again the dealer in pune quoted the on road price for 1.2 asta (O) as 8,89,***rs. i personally found the price too high and some fraud in it yet i have not checked the price with other dealers. guys can you also share your on road price for i20 1.2 asta or asta(O).
Thanks in advance.

Today Me, Mom and Dad had gone to visit my cousins in Andheri. My aunt was not well and mom wanted to met her. While returning my uncle told us that they had bought a new caaaaarrr. We congratulated them and he forced us to go for a spin. Uncle was driving and he told that his son ie my cousin had considered Sunny, Verna and Vento. He says that Verna is very common so he brought the Sunny.

Now while roaming in the caaaar he started telling us that car is very spacious and this and that. This is the top model. Button start. Auto mirrors and all. He said that the pick up is the best.(They upgraded from Santro) I was getting mad hearing all that. Now while parking I asked; "No reverse camera in the top model?"

"No" he replied.

"BTW Uncle, had you taken the TD of Verna?"

"No" he said.

"Thats good that you didnt TDed the Verna!" I replied.

He was like what I was saying and all. After parking; I told that now lets go for another spin in our Verna. He told no, take you cousin. He was standing there. I asked the same thing to him and he was also confused.

Now he inserted the key and one of the punjabi track was playing. As you know Verna's OE system is much better than any other OE systems IMO. First thing he asked.. "Upgraded the speakers?"

"Nah! Didnt spent a single penny except for the seatcovers; numberplates and mattings" I answered with a big smile on my face.

He started the car "This is silent? Are you sure its a Diesel?" I nodded in affermation.

We roamed in the colony. I was dam sure that he realized his mistake. I asked, "So hows this very common car?"

He:"Hmm good but can say anything here. I need a good open road for that."

Me:"So what are you waiting for?"

We went out of the colony and luckly there was no traffic on the road. He ripped the car and **** was the only word he could reply. There was a big grin on my face.

He ripped the car apart and our verna didnt disappointed me. There were few breakers and luckly the car didnt even touched with three people on board. Now I was sure that he realized his mistake. I didn't asked anything more. I just wanted to show them not to keep boosting anything about any car and all. I just wanted to shut his/their mouth and my Verna did that very well.

We reached back; Mom and Dad were waiting. Greeted my uncle and aunt and both the cousins and left. First thing my mom said after entering the car was;
"Our car is the best. It looks awesome; ten thousand times better than the caaaar!" Today was the one of the best day of my life.

Now even after almost two years since the Fluidic Verna hit the market; most of the Vento/Rapid/City owners give second look to my car. And passer bys gives more looks that that. I just love that feeling. Its like Onida's tagling "Neighbor's Envy, Owner's Pride!!"[:D]
