Great to know all you FE freinds Mine is not that good as I had posted in some post earlier, I am getting 9/10 in city and 11/12 in highways. This is on LPG.

Once I checked petrol thru tank full method. based on guidance from KLN service [Service partner for Chevy] guy I filled petrol upto the brim/neck of the tank. Then we drove in higway [Maduravayal to Kolkatta highway]. Mostly on 90-100 KM. I got 15. But after that I did not checked it in city driving condition and also i rarely drive on petrol. Now My question is, generally when we complaint to service people about less FE what they will do. Do we have to specifically tell them.

Usually if you want good mileage in 2 wheeler, we would tell the mech that power can be reduced and FE will be increased.

Like that do we need tell anything to car mech also?

Sethu Sir,

First we need to inspect our self on our driving style and the traffic situations where we are driving. Which gives us a fair idea how much FE we can expect from those conditions and comparing with other peoples FE is not good always.

Yes, you can tell mechanic, if you really feel the FE is pathetic, otherwise he will finger something and makes the car really a worst FE one. I had this experience earlier with my old car.[:)]

Hyundai i10 (manual) fuel efficiency

Hi All,
I own a Hyundai I10 1.2 Kappa 2010 model. I frequently read through a lot of automotive forums and have come across various discussion commenting on the bad fuel efficiency of Hyundai I10.

I have driven 30000 Kms on my car and below are the averages.

Highway:17-19 ( Depending on the Highway-100 % AC on)[clap]

City( Bangalore & Chennai): 14.5 ( Smooth flowing traffic) & 11.5 ( B-B traffic). AC 50-60 %[frustration]

I Shift at 2000 RPM and a sedate driver. Sometimes i do a sprinted driving.

Till this point i was feeling this is normal.

I have started this post so that some constructive discussions on the same will help others to improve their fuel efficiency. Would be glad if other owners share their fuel efficiency and their driving style.

i have the same car but a 2009 model [;)] and its hard to believe you are getting such mileage figures.

i mean delhi's traffic is worst [anger] i don't know the current mileage of the car cause my dad drives it and he always forget to take the reading.

but we just get 10-12 kmpl in city.

for more check out my thread. maybe you get something useful.

Read somewhere that the ideal rpm to shift is between 1500 to 2000.
I shift mine in that range.

Vehicle - Chevrolet Spark LS
Model - 2010
FE City - 14-15(A/c always on)
FE Highway - 15-16(A/c always on)

I never go past 80 if I could help it. I cross 100 only on the Hyd Outer Ringroad just for kicks.

Dear TSIVipul

Are you sure about 18-19KMPL of a Sanely Driven Honda City '
No offence dude but it seems Impossible to me ,
I know, one of my friend who owns ANHC, gets 21 kmpl atleast [clap], He is famous as a real sane driver in our friend circle. I am sure if he gets his hands on common rail diesel counterpart , he will atleast get 28 kmpl.

Op
Now coming to my car ,
Model -Tata manza aura qujd 2011
Fuel -diesel.
Method -tankful/mid

75% semihighway (less than average state highway) ,10% ghat climbup ,15% city

.type of driving -
1)most of the time I am in hurry, most of the time overtaking vehicles next to me , rpm level is at 1900 before overaking and at 2500 to 2800 while overaking (suv s are also not spared ), and at 2000 after the manuvour is complete.

FE - 19 .5 kmpl

2} Iremember when I was new to proper use of' turbo range ' FE was 16 .5 kmpl.

3) If my father drives it on National highways., FE is 23 kmpl.( Akhir Bap , bap hota hain aur Beta beta hota hain)[clap]

4) National highway drives 100 to 130 kmpl with proper use of turbo with 4 people on board FE is 19 kmpl.

Whoa!ANHC gives 21 Km/l.It puts shame for a Diesel Cars like Swift,Indica and others.

FE update on Innova,

Km Ran-410 Km
FE-about 10 Km/l

Innova FE is below average. This is old stat.New stat is coming soon.
