Engine Oil Chamber gone empty:

Before starting at 5.20 PM, I just opned the hood as I didn't for more than a month to check all the fluids and to my horror there was no Lub Oil in chamber. I went to ford service center at 5.40 and asked the people to check.

After checking for leakage in chamber of damage ford guys told me to top up.

I asked them check throughly and told that tomorrow I will leave car with them whole day.

Lub Top Up: 2 Ltrs (Semi Synthetic) but told me to pay for it.

I simply told that there is no leakage or no damage because of my mistake and oil was changed at 2500 kms and currently its 7480 kms which implies less than 5000 kms whereas service interval is 10K kms and this should not happen.

After this I didn't pay (no major argument just casual talk with service station manager and floor incharge for a minute).

Ford service is actually good not at all bad. Asking for payment is a business trick and have seen almost all the company ASSC.

Tomorrow will take her to ASSC for thorough check up. Wish me luck. I was horrified with prospectus of engine seize.

Everything should be fine.
Just wondering how did the oil get consumed so much!

Traveller,
What can be the reason behind this. No damage, I will ask to check the engine gaskets.
I hope nothing major. [confused]

Just keep a check on engine oil as well as instrument cluster warning lamps for some time for any unusual indications. It may harm the engine if the reservoir is running empty. Let Ford inspect and come up with an answer. By the way, this isn’t related to the topic but since you are in Delhi, which after sales you are dealing with?

I am back from service center and FASS didn't find anything unusual in the car. Everything is intact and in healthy state but no answer to the Lub chamber going halfway its capacity.

Henceforth I will keep a regular tab on indicator and possibility of leakage in the parking lot.

I am dealing with Delhi Ford's Vasant Kunj FASS and found to be satisfactoryand better than average and all the people are good and by now I know almost everybody for good reason though.

Re: Ford Figo Titanium Diamond White Ownership Experience

Hi Everyone,
I have read the reviews related to FIGO and they are very good. Planning to purchase FIGO EXI Diesel version due to budget constraint. I am completely bowled by the great handling of FIGO, FIGO's amazing stability at high speed, spacious Interiors, Good boot space. However I have read about engine stalling issue (I have struggled a lot with engine stalling issue with my Bajaj Discover and I am very much concerned with this issue), Engine Noise issue. Also EXI version does not have tachometer. Is tachometer really necessary? Please give me your valuable suggestions.

Engine is same across the models but add ons are different.

Put figo in 1 st gear, release clutch slowly, car will move without any problem (while doing all this, no need to accelerate), I never stalled in my figo.

Techometer held during initial days but once you get to know your car, you don't need to look at anything, instinctively you change gear as per cars demand. Did you ever needed techo in bike, always changed gears without looking anywhere. [:D]

If planning to take highways, go for Figo, you will simply love the drive, thought you could always opt for Fabia Diesel for amazing experience but will cost much more than Figo.

Remeber Figo is almost niggle free (except some sound from left rear of the car and again can be rectified), no rattles, for city ride no tourbo lag. Car is true value for money with amazing space (boot, cabin).

Hi Brandoo,

Many thanks for your reply. I am a rookie about cars and I have just learned how to drive a car. Will it be a good Idea to go for new car?

Go for new car, in any case bumpers will be bumped into by other people. Scratches will result no matter how well you drive, it all depend how other are driving. Generally bikers use car bumpers as break [frustration]

Even if you are expert driver, still you need to get used to the car, which take some time.
New car, peace of mind and can keep her for next 6-7 years while older one have to be replaced withing a year of two depending on condition and age related problems crop up

Re: Ford Figo Titanium Diamond White Ownership Experience

VOILA: GOT THE REASON FOR EXCESSIVE LUBRICANT CONSUMPTION:

Over the weakend I went to Agra in Innova and talked to driver about Figo consuming half of engine oil and also explained my driving style and gear change: 40 for 4th gear and 50 for 5th gear. He told me not to slot car in top gear untill 60 k/hr in case of smooth driving without sudden pickup and 80km/h on highway ride. If car is lugged from low speed in light gear (4 or 5th), lubricant will be consumed at alarming rate.[frustration]This Guys has driven his innova for 2.8 L in 5 years and clutch plate replaced which costed 11 K and no major repair.

Guys follow this rule and do not slot car in 5th gear below 60 in any case and normally around 70km/h. As per him this will not impact FE and even if it impact, it will be marginal but car will be in good condition [cheers]

Re: Ford Figo Titanium Diamond White Ownership Experience

haven't heard of this QuickFiring till now. I own a Figo and haven't experienced this as well. Its better to get this checked but I feel the service engineers might not be able to reproduce it as well. Do let us know

Contact FASS. Get it checked throughly, it should not happen. Sudden loss of life can be fatal for driver or occupants and put you in tricky situation.
