However, since you have been in the rear seat of a dzire, do you feel the aspire has same rear space as dzire or more than it ?
In comparison to Dzire, the Aspire is lacking the rear seat's thigh support. This car cannot accommodate 5 pax and if in future I may travel in this car, I am sure, I'll feel the strain.

Approximately how much boot space does the aspire have ? Not sure if the boot space has been covered in the brochure. I find the boot space to be more than dzire, but again its difficult to judge from pics.
The exact value can't be said at present. But on the look of it in real I found it spacious.

Just had a look at FORD Figo Aspire at SkyWalk chennai last Saturday. Here are my observations.

Information Gathered from the Ford person
1.) Ground clearence is 170MM
2.) Boot size is 367 Liters.
2.) Also, He told me that the model on display was Titanium one and not Titanium+. Not sure how far this is true.
3.) 1.5L Petrol engine will be mated to DCT transmission.

Other Observations:
1.) The door felt heavy and thicker than the available Compact sedans. However, while closing, it did not give me the same thud feeling as other FORD cars. I think it is because that the doors are screwed a bit loosely on this display model. This might have done as to avoid wear since so many people will be opening and closing it during the display.
2.) Interior Biege is not all that bad. Floor mat is light grey in colour which i feel is OK for maintaining it clean. However, Boot is beige which will be a real pain to maintain.
3.) Rear seat space is decent. I am 5'10" and when i adjusted the driver seat to my position i see very good space in rear. This should be one of the compact sedan with good space. As i havent sat on any other CS i cannot compare this to other available ones.
4.) Also, 3 at the rear should do OK for short trips. Only problem here is that the back rest support will be poor for third person due to hand rest.
5.) Boot space is decent.
6.) Audio quality from stock is similar to the existing Figo.
7.) Overall quality was very good. Also, This should be one of the good looking compact Sedan.

Very tough to find out the rear space until and unless we get to see the official reviews. Very contradictory views being seen . Its clear however that its not a proper 5 seater like the zest.

Any idea whether all engine options will be getting the 6 airbag boon or just the 1.5 Power shift AT,like in Ecosport.
How was the front seat adjustments, is it the same system like in current Figo?
How did the AT climate controls in lower dash feel, seems too small like the small radio switching buttons in current Figo.
Is the Passenger seat up front adjustable forward and backward?
Whats your take on plastic quality of interiors compared to say Maruti Swift Dzire?
Was steering wheel reach and rake adjustable?
Any idea on pricing?

Thanks for the snaps and details buddy. I am 6ft and honestly, I think after adjusting the driver seat the space for passenger who sits right behind you could be ok but then the thighs and legs feel cramped as they touch the steering. This car can't house 3 passengers in rear comfortably and honestly when one shall buy it, he/she shall use it for long/short drives. 3 in rear of this car feel packed. For a moment if we leave aside the center arm-rest, yet seating 3 in rear is problem due to slightly hard seats with less broadness as I saw.

Hi Akash,

You may be right. I adjusted the Driver seat height first and then positioned the seat reach as required. Then i went and sat on the rear which i felt it was OK. But as i said, for long drives this rear seat cannot hold 3 person comfortably. It will be OK only for short rides. I did not feel any issue with Seat width but that may be due to my build. On the Ecosport i clearly felt that seat width is not enough for 3 person which i did not feel in this car. But considering i was the only person sitting and judging it i may be wrong on this. I will have a clear idea when i take a couple of friends with me and check it after the car is launched.

The car on display was Diesel Titanium which had 6 Airbags. So i think all engine options will have it. Also, i see information from other online sources that only 1.2L petrol will be available with AT and there will be no 1.5L Petrol. Not sure what to believe.

I haven't been on Figo's driver seat. So can't comment. The height adjust range was good. But, seat travel range was average.

The AT climate controls did look like a single din head unit. However, quality was decent.

I did not check this. But i don't think FORD will skip this. Its available on almost all cars these days.

I havent been on Dzire so cannot compare. But they were very good as per me.

It only only rake adjustable and not for reach.

Brochure of the Aspire leaked!

Interior of Ford Figo Aspire gets dual tone colour theme, with black dashboard and beige faux leather seats (fabric seat upholstery for low end models). Cabin space is given importance, also for utility. Ford India says Figo Aspire has smart storage facilities too, like a storage bin with coin holder, anti-skid mat for smartphones, and the like. Door pockets on the front are capable of holding typical 500 ml bottles. Second row seats get an arm rest at the centre, which should have cup holders

Ford is a driver's car,hence rear seat legroom and under thigh support is always an issue with them.
If one drive's with 4 passengers all the time,its a true value for money car.

The Indian market is so crowded nowadays that there are too much of everyrhing,but not a car that has everything in a balanced manner,
Like the Amaze has loads of space,good under thigh support,..
But let down by pathetic built quality,noisy engine and interior,and not so smart ride

Its built so cheap that I felt that I can pluck every part of its interior and exterior with hand,but on the other hand light weight yields its good power to weight,awesome mileage,then the backing of brand means it will sell
The Zest is a very very very good car,seems Tata had lot of its engineers sent to EUROPE to drive,measure and analyze the VW Golf MK7 before finalizing its credentials,
It actually feels like an Indian made VW Golf, its got good interior space,good quality not stellar,good engines,good NVH,good brakes, and good handling too which was a pleasant surprise..
The XCENT too has all the greatness but lacks built quality,and the highway performance was pathetic,too strained after 80 kmph, if car is loaded, there ends the story..
So I think all brands have their strengths and shortcomings,
Ford and VW are the only brands that insist on a true drivers cars, VW is let down by its service and lack of back seat space
Ford on the other hand seems to have its most balanced car since the Ford Fiesta of 2006,
Sure it isnt perfect but the service costs have come down significantly,the quality of servicr too has improved by a lot and the Aspire seems to sport a well finished interior as well,
The new Jazz and new Aspire are really the cars that could be best in segement cars,
Lets sew how Ford is going to price it,
Aspire will be launched coming August
I am a potential new car buyer,our current Figo has been anything but brilliant,its served us impeccably well,just 26k kms on odo, we dont intend to sell it now but will be here as a secondry car because its worth every penny, just spent 4.54 lakhs for an amazing drivers car and still goes strong despite minor miss use and less care, and no service cost has ever gone above Rs 4000 unless we wanted it to,like interior cleaning and polishing,major part change too included.
So this November our Figo is getting 5 years old and we are extremely satisfied with Figo so far,so our next ride will be a Figo probably the diesel one for long drives,
The petrol will remain as our city car for another 5 more years.

Finally Ford increased power and torque figures of their 1.5L TDCI engine now its

-100BHP and 215NM torque [clap] most powerfull CS in segment if ford managed to price between Swift Dzire and Amaze it maybe dent some sales from other CS cars but iam worrying about TATA ZEST sales whats the future of zest after launch FIGO Aspire Competition became much tuffer [cry]

Instead of this so-called compact Sedan, Ford India should have made a Premium hatchback with same specks to get an immediate success. [frustration]

I don't think this is going to be any attention in the mass market as it already occupied majorly by Dzire and Amaze.

I think this is a superb sub 4m car, really interested in finding how the new 100 HP TDCi reacts, have been waiting for a 90+ HP Ford for so long, Happy to hear that its dynamics too dosent get huge dent.

-Kudos to Ford for offering Airbags as Standard, now if I find brand value in a car its on counts of how safe it is not how cheap it is to maintain and Ford U deserve my full appreciation for making Airbags Standard even in Ambient variant
-Full leather upholstery is great but too much beige was not welcome as it would be really difficult to clean
-I felt the interior quality is even better than Ecosports, what a pleasant surprise.
-Good space inside
-All essentials features are there, parking sensors and some additional which usually come as Standard are optional
