I was also not aware about this kind of dust blowing when parked over the mud with ignition on. I first noticed when I went to temple and saw dust blowing beneath the car.

Second time I noticed when I went to Rajasthan.

Lets see tomarrow whats the Service centre guys at Harpreet Ford says all about these issues.

1. The car was drifting towards left
This can be because of two reasons. As cooldhaya mentioned, it could be because of tyres Or it could be because of wheel alignment. It has to be either of these two reasons.

2. While driving over the mud, the air pressure beneth the car was such that it appeared that a dust strom is taking place

and now we come to mileage. It gave me just 10 KPL on the highway and more so the DTE figure was also wrong. It showed me 30 KM drive left with the petrol but I ended up with the fuel just covering 5 KM distance. [surprise]
Did you get the under body checked? I am not completely sure but may be something is wrong there like a piece of body missing [thinking]. This could have affected the aerodynamics of the car and that in turn might be the reason for your low FE too.
Also, tyre pressure matter a lot. Hope you had the air pressure upto the optimum mark.

Otherwise, there is no logical reason behind such low mileage. I have known that Figo petrol gives better figures than that.

The fact that DTE gave wrong illusion of the fuel remaining tells that the problem is not internal but external.
DTE is quite a good approximation and it is programmed such that it might show 0 KM when there is still some fuel left but never the other way.

At the time of my car delivery, I had noticed that the DTE was saying 0 all the time, i.e., during my PDI, while taking the delivery, etc. But the car still ran some distance, in my case it was 19 Kms.

The dust storm could be due to leaking exhaust pipe? You must get it all checked asap.

was supposed to go to the service centre today but could not go due to hectic work schedule in my office.

now it has been re-scheduled for Friday.

The tyre pressure was right 30 PSI on all four tyres

Till then not driving the FIGO.

Hey Anuprav i noticed today that an Indigo too when reversing created a huge dust storm beneath the car , that too from the center the dust was whirling out just like in your case! And so i guess this is not much of an serious issue to worry about!

And also don believe such rumors.

Completely agree. Even my Alto has recently developed a hole in the silencer which is causing similar air blow when revved high. Its noit a very serious issue. Just get it checked with your dealer ASAP.

I went to the dealership yesterday. First impression of the dealership workshop was dismissal. Not seen such a bad service centre ever. Open space with booking executives sitting under the temporary structure.

Exhaust pipe issue is not there, they said its due to fan which blows the dust. agreed.

regarding FE they said after first service it will improve. So wait and see for me.

Regarding car pulling to left they did the allignment of wheels but it has not improved. So the matter has been reported further to the FORD INDIA in chennai.

One more Figo was also there which was having typical problem of tyres pressure going down immediately after filling it up. They even changed the tyres but the problem persisted. Very confusing

Yes, there could be some issue with rims in second Figo, I can’t think of another reason than this.

Try to send another mail stating that they have not replied for the first mail itself and this is very bad from their part!

Else if you can switch your wheels with somebody else , try doing it and check if still the problem is there!
