Without spare wheel on rear Ecosport will surely miss SUV stance IMO. lets wait and see. Ford can try AT in ecosport , since creta already having and duster also going to have AT soon (I don't is it rumor but read somewhere).
Also the TDCI 8v engine cannot be mated with Fords DCT 250 dry clutch unit, its best its mated with DCT 350 which is a wet clutch unit, but thats too expensive for Ford to do in such a segment, VW makes DSG in house so they can manufacture it at very low costs unlike Ford which relies on Getrag for their gear boxes,
Ford has regular AT 6 spees torque converters but I havent seen them use it for small diesel applicationsaybe its too heavy or some technical hurdles might be haunting them,
Anyway I am pretty sure Ford wont be giving diesel AT cars to us in carz less than 20 laksh here in India. Petrol AT will be plenty though.
