Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Today i TD the ES ecoboost version, car handling is superb even you can spin the car with one finger.Front seats are absolutely comfortable and 3 avg.build people can seat in rear.Dashboard is smiler to new fiesta.AC cools relay fast even though car parked in basement.I am totally impressed with car and will pre-book in couple of days.Hope the same will fit into my budget[;)]For city drive car is ok but dont know how the same will behave in highway.
Thank you for sharing your views about ES. I am happy to see you satisfied with Es and gives me a sense of relief that my eagerness to pre-book the ES will reap me good results and that it was a wise decision[clap] I am reviewing the ES tomorrow and try to put my views on it!

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Hi fellas, today took TD of ES Titanium Diesel Optional variant in the Mpl ford, chennai. The Car feels great to handle and rides smooth . Also the audio system felt good and the automatic AC also was much quicker to chill . I was feeling like sitting and handling a sedan or hatchback. I feel lucky that the variant I have booked itself was available for the test drive . Also the showroom was decorated with balloons that shows the launch is around the corner . I wondered why still Ford has not revealed the pricing . There were continuous walk in at the time I was int he showroom and few bookings were also made .

latest on the launch: It was supposed to be launched today (17 June), as this was the reason why Mr Alan Mullalluy was in India. however, sometime earleir, ford discovered that the painting on the door/handles came off and hence the 'ok to buy' hasnt happened. Optimistic date given to me is 21, however, most likely it is going to be at least 1 week away.

the moot point:
to keep the pricing competitive, are the ecosport buyers going to be comprising on quality? time will tell!![frustration]

also on pricing, expect the base variant to be c. 6 lacs. Any thing more than that would mean Ford is taking benefit of the consumer interest so far!!

Ravi - congrats. That would be because 17 was the expected date of launch for which mr Mullally was here. However, as I mentioned, launch is at least delayed by 4-7 days.

+1,sandy_man

Since Ford has started shipping the Ecosport "officially".It will take atleast 3-4 days for the cars to reach all the dealerships across India, expect the launch to happen in this week only unless ofcourse Ford again decides to postpone the launch[frustration].

On the pricing front I am expecting a sub 6 lacs starting price for the base petrol Ambiente trim.Expect base Diesel to start from around 7 lacs and the Ecoboost Titanium to be priced around 8 lacs.[clap]

Launch will be on 23rd June because that's when the Urban Discoveries campaign officially ends. Also, Sunday turns out to be a great day as far media mileage on TV news channels is concerned.

By tomorrow invites will be rolled out.

White looks very elegant sandyman. That too with the wheel cover it takes it totally to a new level. Gives it a touch of premiumness.

I have started proceedings to sell my old car now hoping that I will get the cars in a month's time. So ford :please: don't make any further delays

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

handed over the cheque to dealer today for WHITE. It does look awesome - in the above pic, if the handles are body colour or better still chrome, it would be nicer. In the above pic, the alloy wheel design is superb, different than the normally 8/10 spoke design seen on many cars!

350Z thanks for the pics - could see some vehicles marked as discoveries campaign. Do yo know the date when these cars were loaded to be transported?

Also, SC ford informed me - launch on 26 June 100% - confirmation from Ford? has any one heard the latest rumour on the launch date?

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

I like White and Kinetic Blue. White is a color which Indians love and on the other extreme Kinetic Blue is a bit different and gives EcoSport a bigger look.

My choice is between these two. Will book only once I get to see them in person.

Are you going for the Petrol variant? Once you book your vehicle can you please confirm if demo car and TD is available at the showroom? Also please get a sense of wait time for EcoBoost and other variants.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

I think the above pics may not be the right comparison - they seem to be Brazilian spec (could see a sunroof).

No TD or demo cars yet. I got the dealer to collect the cheque from my office. Honestly, I have read and seen so much of ES that i might as well book it. Only thing i will decide later on is to choose between ecoboost or 1.5L MT petrol depending on the test drive of ecoboost, pricing and waiting period. Else I will go 1.5L MT petrol. (my usage is just 15 kms every day :)
