Welcome to the club dude

your bit average thats not too bad for the start

you need to get into habbit of going to gym at the first place.

don't worry about supplements now

just do mix exercises for about 45 minutes in the gym and then 15 minutes of cardio
do this for atleast a week and then I'll give a you a bulk up program

Type R:
you are really over weight but we can actually work it out.

First of all - LIMIT your eating
Carbs and FAT should be consumed in a less quantity

Try to incorporate a healthy eating habbit try to eat more salads and avoid deep fried food plus the rice

When you feel hungry try to eat veggies ( may be boiled/steamed and saute'd )

In a day try to do a boxing or a sprint or even a jogging for 2-3 kms .

Start off.. its never too late

Hi All,
Iam not a fitness freak, not a body builder, not a regular gym goer but i was a player (volleyball). I used to captain my school team in ZOnal and inter ZOnal Tournaments. At that time with height of 174 cms i used to weight around 56-60 kgs and that was a very good weight as we used to practice around 5 hours in a day. But now, things have changed height is still same but weight is around 83 kgs which is just 10 kgs over than normal.
As for record once i have had a bet with one of my friend and i loose 6.5 kgs in just 11 days time (from 77 to 70.5 kgs). It was all with hard work and very strict diet plan (i used to eat but lots of boiled things).

Here are my suggestions to all fellow members:

1.) Check your medical status i.e. go through a proper medical check up which also includes you cholestrol (especially 30+) and Thyroid (everyone) before hitting to a new diet plan or gym schedule.

2.) Check your present BMI and set a long term target

3.) Join those activities in which your interest is like gymming, jogging, cycling, swimming, dancing, yoga, etc or may be a combination of all.

4.) Dont forget to do your cardio excercises atleast 3 times in a week.

5.) Do warm up prior to your hard excercise and also do cool down after the workout

6.) Eat a bit of FAT, yes fat is also a very vital part of our diet even if you are obese. But only a bit of butter and ghee or mustard oil or olive oil.

7.) Drink a lot of Water

8.) Eat Fruits and Salad in raw form

9.) Eat supplements only, if required by your life style or else try to full fill the need by natural products

10.) Make a mentor to learn things and how best an excercise shall be done and how to swim properly and cycle properly.

11.) Break down your long term goal into smaller sections and set a prize for yourself after acheiving each and every smaller sub goal.

12.) De stress your self

13.) Share your Goals and sub Goals with your near and dear ones and ask them to motivate you ( it really works)

14.) Most IMPORTANT thing: Beleive in YOUR SELF, It is you who is suppose to paddle, do that chin up, run that extra mile, so beleive and appreciate your self.

just do it today what you want to do as there is no TOMMOROW....

Yes iam in unhelathy range, due to my back problem+Shoulder injury, thyroid and working hours. But now from last one month i have reduced around 3 kgs from 86 kgs and will join swimming from 1st june and morning gym session from saturday onwards.

Hope this time i'll continue it properly and will try to beat stress to counter my thyroid abnormality..
Iam in the range of 28+ BMI and would like to come down to 26 by say end of June 2012. Will keep you updated

You first need to see the medical history, injuries if any, current age, body type, metabolic rate & lots more. Just going to gym & doing weights & cardio won't do good.

Diet is critical and to know the best diet, better visit the diet counsellor first based on which take a work-out plan. And change it after every 30-40 days.

for a start , not bad man.

But you need to change exercise quiet frequently to be able to see astonishing results.

What people say is - fool your body muscles , only then they grow more
