So my dear buddies! Here is the 1st look of the Fiat Avventura that has been launched today with 3 variants i.e Active, Dynamic and Emotion. There are 2 Engine variant provided for it i.e 1.3 Multijet with 93 BHP and 1.4 L petrol with 90 PS power. The Emotion pack comes in diesel only. At present the waiting period for the car is 4 to 6 weeks depending on color choice.

Today I have reviewed the 1.3 Multi Jet Diesel Fiat Avventura with 5+1 Manual transmission.

Review

The Engine: Its the multi-jet





The Headlamps: The halogen lamps are a cost cutting measure. I feel at least provision of a HID should have been there. Even light beam is also not up to the mark.









The rear Lighting: Tail lamps are a striking feature with neatly placed reversing lamps and the rear fog lamp.















The seating: The seats are really comfortable and well made. There is option of 60:40 split of rear seats for additional space. The fabric used in the seats is really nice and no issues in legroom is there and the ingress and egress has been well take care by Fiat.

The Dashboard and inbuilt entertainment system: The dashboard quality is really nice. The plastics used are of good quality and the entertainment system is also of good quality with nice sounding speakers and steering mounted audio controls. There is a Compass and inclinometer added to the dashboard that further adds to the adventurous nature of the car.











The nicely placed Climate control AC with a separate air vent for rear passenger. The cooling is good and even. My only point is why only 1 single air vent for rear?





The Headlamp leveling device and rear defogger switch nicely integrated.



The fog lamps provided in the car are well placed and provide a good beam that enhance the visibility.





The body colored ORVMs with integrated side indicators do give it a classy look.

Fiat Avventura launched at 5.99 Lakhs Ex-Showroom Delhi.

Petrol Variants(1.4 FIRE):
Active - 5.99 Lakhs.
Dynamic - 7.05 Lakhs.

Diesel Variants(1.3 MJD):
Active- 6.89 Lakhs.
Dynamic- 7.65 Lakhs.
Emotion- 8.17 Lakhs.

It is powered by the staple Fiat engines. Options include a 1.4-litre petrol motor and the 92bhp 1.3-litre Multijet diesel motor. Both engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
On the cosmetic front, the bumpers, cladding and scuff-plates blend well to offer the rugged look. The tailgate-mounted spare wheel comes across as a key element in the Avventura’s design. The 16-inch alloys and roof-rails add to the overall appeal of the car.
In terms of equipment, the top trim comes with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, height adjust for driver’s seat, Fiat’s Blue & Me system for telephony, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control and rear AC vents.
The new Fiat Avventura goes up against rivals like the very popular Ford EcoSport, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo.

The Tyre and Ground Clearance: The Avventura has been provided with Good Year wheels and 16inch Alloys that look in design. The ground clearance of the car is 205mm which is done keeping in mind the actual purpose of the vehicle. Really this ground clearance seems to be Fiat's USP.









The boot Space is also very good and can be expanded with rear seat folding.



This Avventura comes with all 4 power windows.



The gear knob is not too flashy but neat and the hand-brake too is neatly placed without any obstructions.





The side cladding is made of good quality plastic and the spare wheel mount in the rear well designed with easy open-ability. These 2 things make the Avventura stand out from the rest.

From my point of view Ford Ecosport , Fiat Avventura , Toyota Etios Cross , cannot consider as an SUV or Urban SUV or Mini SUV .
They all are normal hatch back . Manufacturer put the extra tire at the back
and calling it SUV etc .
If all these are SUV's then what we will call for Safari Storme , Nissan Terrano , Duster , Scorpio , Fortuner , CRV , Innova etc.........

1) Aux Socket.



2) 12 Volt DC socket



3) Glove Compartment is well lit



4) Accessible utility spaces



5) Functional Roof rails for carrying load upto 50 Kg.



6) Rear Defogger



7) Sporty Rear Spoiler with Integrated stop lamp





8) Separate Rear viper



9) Front AC vents with Chrome ring surround.



10) OEM finish Black pillars

Things I liked about the new Fiat Avenntura

1) Dual Front Airbags





2) Remote integrated Key



3) Internal fuel lid opener



4) Plastic Quality of Handles adjacent to steering



5) Driver side seat height adjustment



Some negative points of Avventura.

1) No vanity mirror for driver side sun visor. I am told Linea has both.





2) Non body colored door handle. Body colored would have complemented the ORVMS.



3) No foot-well lights



Moving Forward, the IRVM of Avventura has enough viewing space and has a dual overhead reading lamp above it.

A small but really significant thing to be seen here is that Avventura has been provided with good quality wipers and neatly placed windshield washers on the hood.





The internal cladding under the hood shall be providing a minimal engine noise and a silent ride.



Summary: To summarize my review, Let me tell you, the car is well built and the front persona of the car looks aggressive. With the kind of features provided in the car, it is a value for money package.

It is definitely difficult to hit the sweat spot AtoFA pricing concerned with 1.5 or 1.6 engine, ES had benefit of possessing it in the stock sedan.
For this size,diesel Punto produces 209 nm torque, I must say, it is adequate for Indian road conditions.

I don't think, price wise it is going to be equal 1.5 polo, else vw could have easily got it under the hoods of polo Cross.

Well, let's wait for Aventura TD to talk about gear box.

Its not how much torque a car makes, its when and how it is delivered. And FYI Polo makes 230 nm torque and delivers in a beautiful manner.

I love all Fiat products including Avventura, but engine is what pulling them down.
