Probably one of the best reviews I've ever read and it was enjoyable, reading it.
There is nothing I can say about Punto as I consider it as a Gem.
Keep Revving!! [:)]

Situation is terrible...fungus on seats and interior smells pungent..god help !!![frustration]
This might be also because some one wet, sat inside the car and when car is closed, there is no circulation of air and fungus finds a good home. I had this problem in my old Zen. One day me and wifey brought some fungus cleaner spray and cleaned everything manually. But I am not sure, how to avoid the same from happening again. [confused]

Once dampness sets in inside the car, this situation becomes unaviodable. The only solution is to clean the fungus manually and keep the car parked with all doors/windows open under the sun (though where one would find the sun during Kerala monsoons is an unsolved conundrum).

@jayadev: please DON'T post any photographs. Can't see a Punto in this state [frustration]

Sure I cant either ,situation is horrible, one may feel to puke seeing those tree like molds growing (same like bread molds) all over the seats I am brushing it whenever I see them but next day they are back .

The humidity is very high here and sitting inside the car has gotten sickening with that moist stinking air in it.
There is not much of sun nowadays either.

it all happened after recent Bangalore trip.

One thing you could do is keep windows of your car bit open and can place a bulb in ON condition inside the car. This might give some warmth required inside the car and can avoid fungus to grow again. But question is how many days you do this. And this is just a suggestion not sure if this would work 100%.

@jayadev: Take your car to some reputed interior cleaning garage FAST. Going by your description, I don't think any homemade solution would work.

Be careful while cleaning the fungus. Its infectious. Take care not to inhale it.

In simple words, take an appointment with a Car doctor. She needs it badly.[sad]

Re: punto humour

1.i explained my mom about the blue n me feature in car saying that ,the moment we bring the phone inside punto ,it will take over entire commands of phone and whole car will work more than phone,as it will dial numbers when we call out the names and when i demonstrated it to mom , she got worried and said " be carefull and dont leave the phone inside, who knows if it dial some numbers by itself-should be given a thought "

2. our neighbourhood senior person still insists that steel rims (in indica vista) are better and stronger than alloy wheels (in punto) he says "alloys are just aluminium to reduce the weight -he may be right"
3.my aunt came over and said at least this time you did right thing by purchasing white car which is auspecious and symbol of purity. black one(vista) was inauspicious and devilish- i listened!!!
4.dad asked why did you opt for smaller car, indica vista was big and spacious.-tata should feel proud!!
5.finally my brother says he lost interest in GTA (the computer games) putno is here !!(punto did what whole family was trying to do for last 4years!!)
6.Mrs. is worried, as so many men and WOMEN are turning thier heads towards the person who is riding on this fair Italian beauty.
7.when i said punto has great brakes with abs and ebd one of my friend commented"that is very much dangerous!! as too much of brake will make you stop suddenly for sure including the guy behind ,who may stop over you!!!!!"
On point 7; you can get this bumper sticker fitted (from ebay):
